About this house rental
This house seems 'remote' but really it is not. It is in the countryside, but in 20-25 minutes you can be on the wonderful coastal towns and beaches of Esposende and Viana do Castelo.
Braga is also very easy to reach, as is Ponte de Lima, and Porto.
Even though it's in the countryside, it's still only 5 minutes walk to the local cafe and mini grocery store.
The house enjoys a peaceful and safe location, great for adults and children to relax and enjoy their holidays.
The outside grounds are very large and there are lots of trees and open ground for children to explore. Also the hills around are perfect for mountain bike lovers.
The pool is large (10m x 5m) and we provide a BBQ grill. There are also sun loungers and parasols and you can also eat outside 'al fresco'!
There are lots of shaded areas for you to relax in, take a book and read or just have a siesta!
The house is a traditional thick stone building and is nice and cool in the summer. You will notice from the pictures the quality of the wooden window shutters, which are beautifully made.
The house has lots of space for your family and friends to relax and enjoy.
The main hall leads off to the dining area with a table that comfortably seats 8-10 persons.
From there you can access the kitchen which is very well equipped.
There is a very spacious and comfortable lounge with fireplace, and in the corner of this very large room is a set of table chairs, ideal for sit and play board games or cards.
On the same level of the house there are three bedrooms.
All of the bedrooms have lovely shutter doors which lead directly outside to the balcony / terrace.
The Master bedroom has a large double bed and a superb en-suite bathroom. This bathroom has a walk-in walk-out shower (see pictures) with direct access to the balcony / terrace.
On the same floor there is a twin bedroom with doors leading to the balcony / terrace
There is a further double bedroom also with doors leading to the balcony / terrace.
Both these bedrooms share a good sized family bathroom.
So essentially on the ground floor you have:

Very large lounge with a corner seating area

The lower ground floor, in an unusual space. When I say 'unusual' I mean in a good way.
First of all it is HUGE!
As you can see from the pictures there is a massive room which is almost the length of the entire house. It is presented in 2 spaces.
The first space as you can see has ample comfortable seating and a large TV. This an excellent space of the young adults and children to sit and watch while the adults sit in the more formal lounge.
There is a large library of books. Then in the second space is a desk and a table and chairs. There is also a children's playhouse
On this same lower lever, you will find the 4th bedroom, which also has doors leading to the gardens.
Next to the bedroom there is a lovely bathroom and it also has doors leading directly to the gardens.
Finally, there is a utility room with a washing machine should you need it during your stay.
We provide free of charge a fiber optic wireless connection.
A cot may be provided if requested.
Beach towels are also provided free of charge.
Good quality linen and towels are included.

We were greeted on arrival by the owner and made to feel very welcome, with a tour of the house and food essentials left in the fridge.
There was a lot of thought put into the age range of children we had with us - high chair, hooded towels, suitable plate, cup and utensils. All very much appreciated .
We were also grateful for the local maps, guide leaflets and local knowledge of what was on in the area during our stay.
The house itself was delightful, spacious, airy and very well equipped. The pool and bbq all got plenty of use and were loved by all.
The garden and land was a bonus with a safe environment for the children to explore provided they were watched from a distance as there was a stream and fish pool.

This property worked perfect for us. Room to spare for 6 adults and 2 pre-teens. Nice central location for access to beaches and Barcelos, Braga and nearby towns. Celia was very helpful with information and greeted us on arrival. We would definitely recommend!

Our stay at this villa was wonderful. The property itself was great - very large with well equipped rooms, tastefully decorated. There are just 4 of us (2 adults 2 children) but I think it would be fine to have two families here - it really is huge. As long as you keep the shutters closed in the hot part of the day, the rooms stay nicely cool for sleeping at night (even in 35C+ heat). For kid’s entertainment, there is everything you need - table tennis, table football, two large TVs and a playhouse for younger children. The pool was gorgeous - a good size and depth, in a lovely garden setting - with some sun and some shade. We spent a lot of time relaxing there. The villa is set on a wooded hillside so is beautifully peaceful - there are some other houses nearby but it feels very secluded. We spend 2 weeks here and did not get bored at all - there are plenty of nearby day-trips to do including beaches, kayaking/paddle boarding on rivers plus Barcelos, Braga and Porto only 30-45 mins away. I would say you do need a car for this location if you want to see some of the local area - there is not really much within walking distance. Célia was a wonderful host - very helpful and on hand to answer questions but not at all intrusive. Our family had a fantastic holiday here, and we really did not want to leave!
