St-Gervais-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie is a French spa town well known since the end of the 19th century, full of charm with historic buildings dating from the early 20th century around the town square.
From December to April, Saint Gervais is at the heart of the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area, including Megève and Les Contamines; it is the 3rd largest ski area in France with 445 km of pistes and superb off-piste runs.
The Mont Blanc Tramway connects to Les Houches in the Chamonix Valley.
You can also skate at the Patinoire (500m away), swim at the indoor and outdoor pools at the aquatic center, or dine at the Michelin-starred restaurant in the town square. Saint Gervais has fantastic offerings all year round: summer walks in the mountains, a stopover at a goat farm, the view of the Mont-Blanc massif, pampering at Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais - a nearby spa located in a beautiful park offering a full range of treatments. Tennis, mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, 65m bungee jumping from the new bridge and of course standing at the top of Mont Blanc are just a few more examples of what you can do in Saint Gervais and the surrounding area. The lakes in the area offer beaches and opportunities for swimming, sailing and more. Ideally located, Geneva and Annecy are less than an hour away.
Getting to get to Saint Gervais:
By plane: Geneva airport (approx 1h10)
By bus: Bus and shuttle companies serve Saint Gervais from the Geneva airport such as BlaBlabusfrom 23€ pp.
By train: Saint Gervais Le Fayet train station is located few km away, and a bus is available directly at the train station to the village. Direct TGV train from Paris every Saturday in winter season; otherwise, change at Annecy/Chambery from Paris. Direct trains run from Lyon all day long.
By car: The expressway A40 brings you to Le Fayet, a 10 minute drive from the village center.

This is a great apartment, conveniently situated within a short walk of both the cable car and the town centre. We arrived by train and got the cable car up from the station - so easy! We visited in summer, and enjoyed being able to sit outside on the terrace. We also appreciated the ceiling fan in the living room, as it was really hot during our stay. The apartment was comfortable and clean. The host was very responsive, and gave us clear instructions for accessing the keys on arrival. The apartment has recently been renovated, though the photos and description hadn't been updated at the time we booked - but the quality of the renovation definitely made up for our daughter's disappointment that there's no longer a bath! We would happily stay again.

The property was clean warm and comfortable and adequately equipped for our family of 4. It was well located near the cable car. Another WC would have been useful and a faster reheat of the hot water in the evenings. Communication with the owner was good but would have appreciated full access details rather sooner as not having them until the day before you leave caused some anxiety. Overall it was enjoyable and would go again.
