About this house rental

Step out of the front door and you are next to Winfrith Heath and Tadnoll nature reserve The single storey 'Stable' has been beautifully restored and equipped to a very high standard with the emphasis on making your stay as comfortable as possible. It has two double bedrooms each with a double bed (both with en-suite). An open-plan design links the kitchenette, dining and lounge areas. The property stands within the one acre grounds of the owners' Grade 2 listed cottage and the outlook from all aspects is onto the garden which is also yours to share (and enjoy the peace and tranquillity) while you are here. Garden furniture is supplied, during summer months. Bed linen and towels are supplied and electricity/water and free high speed wifi are included in the cost. Unfortunately, The Stable is unsuitable for either very young children (5 years old and younger) or pets.
There are two designated parking places for The Stable, off road, just outside our gate.

A lovely stable conversion in immaculate condition with a very pleasant owner Paul who makes every effort to make your stay enjoyable. All on one level if you dislike stairs and very comfortable beds and armchairs etc. Plenty of safe free parking and the property is inside the owners gated compound so we were happy about leaving valuables behind. The phone signal is weak here and in most of Dorset but free fast wi-fi is provided. The location is ideal if you are interested in: Dorchester, Wareham, Weymouth, Swanage, Lulworth Cove, Durdle door, T. E. Lawrence, Whistler's etched glass, Athelhampton House, The Tank museum, ... and the owner knows which pubs to eat at, quiet beaches, ... We were very happy here and I feel it would be ideal accomodation at any time except the pit of winter.

Excellent cottage with everything on hand and carefully managed - thanks to Paul for being so helpful a host. The location near the coast at Lulworth and handy for Dorchester , Weymouth and Wareham/Swanage suited us and was handy. Visit Hardys birthplace and TE Lawrence chapel at Morton and Clouds Hill. Countryman Inn close by.

Our third stay at this wonderful property and secluded garden.The property is practical and the host available nearby if any problems arise.If you like country walks , you will be in the right spot given the nearby heathland etc ( watch out for the rabbits ). If you like the seaside, not far from Weymouth etc.Lovely pub ( Red Lion ) at the botttom of the road . Other pubs are available !.Monkey World about 10 mins away .

We loved the welcome , friendly and helpful conversation with Paul. Our exploration in sunny weather was rewarding , and the delightful garden was a leafy, tranquil retreat. Best visit ; the Walled Garden. Worst moment; discovering it cost 14 to park the car at Lulworth Cove after the first hour! … And I loved my early morning runs exploring the paths of the Heath.

We had a lovely time on our stay in this cosy and beautifully clean property all was as described, and the milk, tea and cookies were a lovely touch. The booking in process was really easy and Paul was a good host. The garden is nicely kept and a paradise if you like birdwatching and the beautiful local surrounding area makes this a wonderful place to stay. We would definately recommend

This is our second stay. We loved the location, very convenient for many places. We visited Lulworth Cove, Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Shaftesbury and Bridport. The accommodation is the perfect place for a week’s getaway.

The hosts were friendly, available and helpful with lots of tips on places to visit. The Stables were clean, well equipped and comfortable. We had walks on our doorstep and plenty of interesting places to visit including the world’s only scanners which is a site to behold. We would definitely book again if in the area. We stayed for a week last year and decided that two weeks would provide an opportunity to really explore the surrounding countryside and nearby coast. We returned to this property as it is ideal for this in addition to having itself a lovely garden and environment. The host lives nearby and is extremely helpful and approachable. I cannot recommend too highly this property if you are looking for a nice retreat away from the city. The property has everything you would need. Wool is just down the road and has a large Spa convenience shop and there are numerous pubs/restaurants around. The host will update you as to the " better ones " .

Although compact, very clean & comfortable. Everything you could possibly need for a wonderful relaxing stay. Beautiful gardens, lots of wildlife to keep us amused. Hedgehogs, squirrels & a wide variety of birds visit the garden at the Stables. Paul , the host made us very welcome , he is a perfect host , very discreet , but available if you need anything . He invited us to look around his private garden , we were really impressed , it is stunning , well cared for , also it's a magnet for a wide variety of wildlife . The Stables is well located for visiting nearby popular attractions , Monkey world , the tank museum , the breathtaking Jurrasic coast & Weymouth are a very short drive away. Lovely walks around the property too. Thank you to Rob & Jones the cat for allowing us to wander around your private space . We would be happy to visit again.

The stables was a lovely place to stay, the hosts where very welcoming and amiable. We had complementary tea milk and some biscuits when we arrived which was very appreciated. The stables had everything you would need during your stay with two double bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms which was great for the two teenagers. The location was lovely and extremely quiet and an ideal base to travel to all the main attractions and towns in Dorset. All in all a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from Paul and nothing was too much trouble for him( a gift of fresh milk and delicious biscuits were much appreciated) .As keen gardeners ourselves ,we were treated to a tour of the Knoll’s beautiful garden ….. which we were invited to use at our leisure. The ‘Stables’ provided everything we could wish for as all the comforts of home were provided.Secure parking was a bonus. Perfect for two couples- two en-suite bedrooms at opposite ends of the building were separated by the dining- kitchen and living areas. Perfect for lovely walks locally and all major attractions are easily accessible by car. Perfect hosts, perfect location………”we shall return “ Lesley and Ian Hurt - Sheffield.

This is an outstanding place for a holiday in Dorset close to some lovely beaches and places to visit. Paul is an excellent host, checking everything was ok for us and so helpful with advice on places to visit. The Stable is one of the cleanest properties we have stayed in as well as having everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The garden is just wonderful to relax in and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surrounding countryside. We would definitely recommend this property and wouldn’t look anywhere else to stay when we visit Dorset again! Thank you Paul for a wonderful week!

A lovely converted property with a private garden. The Host Paul lives nearby so always available for advice etc. The property is well equipped with everything you would want. The nearby area has plenty of places to eat and shop for food etc. Easy to get to places such as Monkey World / Weymouth / Swannage. In conclusion, highly recommended for an enjoyable break from the city living .

If you are looking for a peaceful secluded getaway this is the perfect place for you. Whilst there are many towns and major attractions within easy reach, the stables are well away from all of these. Situated in the beautiful gardens of the owners property, it is quiet, clean and really well equipped, with comfortable beds and arm chairs. Paul, the owner, met us on arrival and made sure we had everything we needed.. Overall a lovely place to stay with walks over the heath from the the doorstep. We hope to return, thank you Paul.

A lovely cozy cottage situated in a beautiful garden. The cottage was fully equipped, with Smart TV, and comfortable. Paul, the host also gave us 2 garden lounge chairs to enable us to enjoy the gardens birdsong at the end of a days walking. The location was perfect to visit the surrounding areas and local pubs.

Very well stocked kitchen, normally we have to bring almost everything. The room is great and the garden area is almost as great. Only problem we had was drying the bath towels. Could do with some sort of cheap retractible washing line? Other than that the place was fine.

Paul gave us a warm welcome and introduction to the property which was clean, tidy and well equipped. Despite a failure in the hot water system Paul was quick to get the problem sorted considering the time of year. A vehicle of some sort is a requirement as there are no shops within walking distance, but once there and settled (provisioned) there is plenty of things to do in good or bad weather.

This is a well converted and comfy stable in an ideal location for exploring the Dorset coast. Equipped with everything you need and in a rural location but within easy reach of places such as Corfe Castle, Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove, Weymouth, Studland and towns such as Dorchester, Wimborne and Wareham. As an added bonus for those used to city skies, you can see the stars! The only addition we would recommend would be some kind of means to dry towels - a line or a heated towel rail.
