Beautiful place for underwater, great snorkelling reef , we haven’’t seen anything like this during our 14-day tour in Sri Lanka. Very convenient access to the reef from the Hotel and excellent facility. Scuba diving place too, with World War 2 shipwrecks and the beauty is the fish life in the reef !!. Very large and specious rooms, good accommodation.
Will come back for underwater exploration next time !!. Good seafood and excellent staff, good atmosphere to relax and unwind .

Property is pretty remote but I did know that when booking. I thought it would be a good snorkelling spot but we borrowed some very ordinary snorkelling equipment from the hotel and the water visibility was not good so we gave up. I’d also tried to book a snorkelling trip through the hotel and they’d said they would arrange it but when we arrived I was told it was fully booked which was really disappointing. So make sure you confirm everything before you stay. I felt like my message responses may have been written by AI which could be where the miscommunication came from. Also, our deluxe family room with sea view had no sea view.

Loved our stay at Giman Free Beach Resort. The beach is isolated, the staff are warm and helpful, and the resort is eco conscious. A great place to unwind and disconnect.

The place is nicely planned, but it got stuck somewhere on the way. Need very deep maintenance. Everything is old, not maintained, and not clean. It was cleaned by staff, but when something is not maintened thru the years, can not be properly cleaned. Bed was comfy, but on the upper deck we didn't have a beds, but only matresses, We took family room and on the pics looks fantastic, and very connected to nature, but onsite what is true is only that is connected to nature. Beach was dirty, pool is pretty small for that size of the property. The chef was nice and food was very good, but the waiters and other staff don't know their work (waiters are all very young boys, not even properly trained). Waiters didn't speak either English nor Sinhala language, so the communication was very poor.
Everything could be better if someone takes over who wants to invest money in renovation and properly train the staff.
