Each of the restored houses has a panoramic view, including towards the neighboring island of São Jorge (some even have a sea view). The second largest island in the Azores owes its name to the Pico volcano of the same name, which is almost 2,400 meters high. The island is also known for its vineyards, its impressive landscape with lava fields and as a starting point for excursions to watch whales and dolphins. Activities nearby : The island of Pico offers a wide range of leisure activities: go hiking along the coast, ride a bike or discover the green island on horseback. The natural swimming pools of PoÇa Branca are about 1.5 kilometers away. You can go whale and dolphin watching from Madalena Port or embark on an island tour to Faial. If you prefer to take it easy, you can relax at Praia do Canto da Areia beach. In the high season, activities such as traditional fishing or in-house cheese production are sometimes offered on site.
