The home is spacious and the rooms were comfortable. The space is also bright and fun. We had a good time overall and it's a good space for the price.The one main issue is that some of the kitchen appliances were old and/or not entirely clean in rough shape. The dishwasher was broken however, so I imagine that that condition of the items is usually not the case.The host was communicative and helped me retrieve my bag from the home when I accidentally left it, which I appreciated.

It was as listed. I arrived after 9 pm on a Saturday and felt uncomfortable in the area. However after getting settled there were kids 3-8 yrolds playing outside so it put us at ease. The place was clean and plenty big. I would stay here again.

Ms. Linnie provided smooth communication, was very hospitable, and kind. That was very much appreciated. We personally wouldn't stay at this location again for several reasons. The photos posted for this home are definitely retouched. We realized that as soon as we entered the residence. The furniture and dining room chairs needed slipcovers (needed cleaning). We discovered that only the top of the dining room table had been wiped as it was super smeared. None of the blinds in the rooms went all the way down so we had to strategically get dressed to feel comfortable. The floors were cracked. The baseboards had cracks and holes. The vents in the bathrooms looked as if they had never been cleaned. We thought if we turned them on only dust balls would blow out. Although there is a locked gate around the home we felt like the doors were going to get kicked in at any minute. We stayed out as much as possible. The neighborhood was not favorable at all. There were 2 men that kept walking around the house and staring at us. There were people outside ALL NIGHT SCREAMING AT THE TOPS OF THEIR LUNGS both nights. There's a chicken coop behind the house. You will DEFINITELY hear them crowing for hours. Could still hear all of the commotion with AC and TV on &ear plugs in. The 1 thing about the home that was impressive was the GORGEOUS kitchen but the condition of the rest of the house took away from it. Home is fixed up & run down at the same time. Got zero rest. Was an uncomfortable stay.

We enjoyed our stay! Good value for the price. Host very responsive. Great location and proximity to train. No trouble finding a place to park on the street. Plenty of space for our family of five. Nice gas stove, spacious refrigerator. Clean pots and pans. Water got nice and hot. And the neighbors’ chickens out back were charming. Give this place a try!

Property manager was very responsive and the communication was clear and helpful. The house was very clean. Although the neighborhood was very concerning, dirty with a lot of people standing on the block, no one was threatening and nothing happened during our stay. Parking on street was safe.

Had a great time at Ms. Linnie’s place! She was incredibly responsive and helpful. The house was clean and comfortable, and I loved that there were 2 full bathrooms! I was a little nervous about the neighborhood as we were definitely looked at as outsiders, but no one bothered us and we walked to Maxwell Street Polish and back just fine (which is fantastic, btw). I did love the gated yard in back with two parking spots, so we had our own space. Would definitely stay again!

This was not what we expected as far as neighborhood. Very sketchy, loud music and fighting in the street that continued past 4 AM. We did not feel safe. House was ok but not clean. Walls were very dirty. Showers were terrible and had mold. Towels were like rags. Beds were barely made. The amount of money that we paid for two nights was NOT ok.

This property was a great place, well maintained, and very close to downtown Chicago. The host was very responsive and the property was clean and comfortable. The only detraction is the location. On a normal day, things were quiet but the area was dirty (trash lining the streets). On the 4th of July, there was a lot of rampant fireworks, some getting too close to vehicles for comfort (even landing in the yard or debris touching the house). Overall, an amazing property though!

The price of the location was good. Again, I feel I shouldn’t complain because the price was great but, I was unaware how dangerous the area was. Every Lyft driver that took us there said comments like, “you need to upgrade and leave this area”, “this area is not safe for you”. We even had 2 drivers cancel our pick up because they didn’t want to go into this area. We didn’t have anything happen to us and we stayed, but definitely my family was very scared at night. I would have my son open the door before the driver would leave us. The condo itself was not bad and the communication with the owner was very good and fast. She was receptive to all my questions. If I were to make suggestions, I feel like the owner should buy cloth couch covers that are washable. The couches look very stained and we didn’t want to just sit on them. I took a sheet off the bed and put it over one of the chairs to sit in. Also, the pans were rusty. My wife found several small black curly hairs in our sheets, which made me question whether they were washed. I couldn’t afford to leave after we paid for the stay, so we just stayed put. We would leave in the morning and wouldn’t come back until we were ready to lock up and stay in. I would not go back there with children.

Positives - Property manager is very easy to communicate. During our stay we had an issue with the bathroom door lock and it was addressed promptly. Negatives - 1) Misrepresentation of bed sizes. Second and third beds are NOT QUEEN as shown in the listing. Both are Full size. 2) Location is NOT SAFE for family stay.

If you are someone new to visiting Chicago, as me and my family were, I would strongly suggest you research this area before reserving. I chose this listing because of its relative proximity to downtown. But once we arrived, we absolutely did not feel comfortable in that environment and opted to stay in a hotel instead. I think it’s safe to say there’s a reason why there’s no exterior pictures of the house or the neighborhood as you often see with other listings. This may be suitable for some families but certainly not for us nor would I suggest other families like us. Do your homework before signing so you don’t make the mistake I did.

We stayed here for a family trip to Chicago to visit the bean and city shopping and also went to Solider Field! Ms Linnie was Awesome to deal with and her accommodating was spot on! The reason I put so so for the title was because every Uber driver said oh you are saying a “so so” area? In the posting there isn't a picture of the out side of the house, its a run down house but refurbished . The neighborhood is very diverse. We didn’t feel safe being outside after dark. Although we did meet Ms V and her sister Ms J across the street and were more than welcoming and super to talk to! Reassured us we would be safe. The inside of the house is pretty nice and had most of what we needed. A few things that are in need of work. The refrigerator needs a new handle on the freezer section, there wasn’t a coffee pot or coffee so had to travel to get some. A few more towels would be recommended. Also it was warm and the downstairs air wasn’t working but contacted the host said it wasn’t hooked up? The bedrooms upstairs did work. Not an area to keep windows open. Also the electrical outlets in the upstairs back bathroom did not work to use my hairdryer or flat iron. Had to use the bathroom one? There is nothing to walk to in the vicinity and wouldn’t trust the area to walk as previous reviews had stated. Overall we made it work!
