Host & Stay - The Coach House

The location and accommodation were perfect for the whole family. Scenery superb and cooking facilities excellent.

The hill from town is steep and may not be suitable for aging or infirm people. However, easy access by car or taxi

Location was great and the accommodation was large and comfortable and catered for the needs of the 8 of us. It was good to have 3 parking spaces as this is pretty rare in Whitby

On arrival directions to the property are a bit confusing- perhaps some photos would assist. We had some issues opening some of the velux windows which clearly need a bit of maintenance. Host and Stay were reasonably helpful with suggestions and after some toing and froing did offer to send someone out however we had by then eventually managed to open one which gave enough cooling. Some of the facilities were a bit lacking - dishwasher with no tablets , coffee machine with no pods, only one cleaning cloth and no spare bin bags. We did ask if we could arrive earlier than 4pm and also asked if we could leave one car on the property for a few hours after we'd checked out (to visit the Abbey) both requests were refused.

Excellent location have stayed there previously

The house is very clean and tidy however due to the hot weather there was a clear smell of dog in the living room which was a little disappointing

The property is beautiful. It was very comfortable with enough space for 9 adults. The location was superb with views across the estuary. It is situated in a very quiet and peaceful location which was good for sleeping with windows open in hot weather. The kitchen, living room and dining table worked well for our family.

Other reviews had mentioned some issues with the showers, these hadn’t been quite resolved, however we were able to manage fine and the showers do work.
