2 The Mews - easy walk to town and the CVC

It was cold and the electric blanket on one side was not working. Bathroom and shower are small and narrow

This is a self-catering venue. The kitchen was well equipped and the 2 bedrooms each had their own bathrooms. The Mews is well situated for an easy walk into town. Even at night it was safe to walk back to our accomodation. The Clarens community is very friendly and everyone works together to keep it that way.

There was nothing we didn't like. We had a most enjoyable stay and loved the atmosphere of The Mews and of Clarens.

Very nice 2 bedroom apt, with in theory everything to have a good stay. Good beds.

The apartment is stone cold in June/winter. The owner didn't know how to ignite the gas heater, which is essential to get the inside temperature to an acceptable level. It took so long that we weren't able to get dinner anymore on the day of arrival. When it finally burned, the gas ran out the next day, a Saturday, and the owner brushed us off initially that we would be the first on Monday morning since everything was closed...How is this your primary source of heating and how don't you at least have only one spare cannister???? Since it was extremely cold outside, that was of course unacceptable, so I suggested he'd get one from a gas station or a friend as we couldn't do without. The air blowers didn't provide enough warmth and the amount of electrical outlets also didn't suffice. At first, when we mentioned that, the owner ghosted us: my app messages didn't reach him anymore, which felt awful. His girlfriend, who was abroad, then took over the communication, suggesting we'd find a different accommodation. As if we'd want to throw away a half day by searching for one, we had already lost valuable vacation time and just needed a new cannister or other viable way of heating. The next morning he called, that a new cannister could be delivered which he got from a friend. It again cost a considerable amount of time, but it now at least worked. So at last, he did come through, but the way this went on, was awkward, time consuming and simply energy draining, a pity, since the potential of the apartment itself is absolutely fine.
