Cozy log house close to town center

The property was clean, very cozy and close to the town center. It had all the comforts and the host´s instructions about staying there were very clear and were sent well on time.

The stairs to the 3rd floor are somewhat creaky. The building is over a century old, which makes this understandable. Otherwise the property was nicely renovated and decorated!

Disappointed by the noise, lack of privacy and peace, and the rudeness.

Location was fairly good. The walk to the city centre was reasonable.

Very noisy. You can hear people through the walls, or walking back and forth in the room above. Our room was right off the kitchen, so even more noise. No matter how late or early, anytime someone wanted to prepare food, we had to listen to every bit of the preparation and the smell of whatever was cooking filled our room. No privacy. We dropped our things off and went out on the first day, only to come back and realize someone entered the room while we were gone to start a fire in the fireplace. We'd locked the door and yet someone came in anyway. I realized as soon as we got there that this wasn't the place for me. I sent a message to the property about a request I'd made that wasn't fulfilled and there was an immediate response. But after we grasped how noisy the place was and that someone came into our room without permission or notice, I wrote again to ask about the refund policy and stated that we wanted to get the money back and go elsewhere. We literally never received another reply. On the second night, I wrote again to complain that someone in the room above was pacing back and forth and dragging furniture across the room for hours, keeping us awake, even though "quiet time" was to be from 11pm to 6am (and this had been going on from 8pm to nearly 2am), no response again. On another night, we got locked out of our room and had to go to the house behind to ask for help. The owner was sick, we were told, and a very rude young man made it extremely clear that he wanted nothing to do with us and was very annoyed that we needed help. After 15 minutes or so, he finally managed to let us back into the room, acting like a spoiled child the whole time. A man came into our room one night when we weren't fully dressed, to do something with the fireplace, and though he was apologetic he never did identify himself so we didn't know who the man was. Nevertheless, he was friendly enough. The bed was terrible and had no support.

Cosy place situated in a great location, about three minutes walk to the lake, maybe 7 to the city center. The house gives a very homely feeling and comes with everything that is needed to feel comfortable abroad. Lovely kitchen. Comes with a sauna. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the place

Amazing old house fully equipped with everything you need. Great big kitchen. Room was also big enough with comfortable bed. Also found a plate of strawberries in the morning on the kitchen desk:). Great sauna in the basement of the house. Used it on both days in thecevening after long hikes. The owner family is super nice and the provide you with privacy to do your own thing. Everythingis well-organised through self-check in and use of faciities. The nature around kuopio is just stunning! Would recommend it 100%. Thanks for a lovely experience.

The place was nice... 120 years ago. Now is old and run down. The toilet and shower are very small, probably old closets. The pipes make a lot of noise, the matresses are about 30 years old and you sunk yourself in them. The towels are terrible and about the same age, but the worse thing is the air conditioner. Although the windows can be open, they insist in having it on day and nigth and, since it is not very good, it makes a lot of noise at night in the room. I don't recommend this place at all. The shower and windows are dirty

Having issues with communication with the host, prepare for some challenges.

Good location

When we arrived, there was no key to our room. We tried to reach the host but didn't manage despite many attempts. The room was open so we managed to get inside, however. The door handle was so loose it was almost dropping and we had to fix it. Also, leaving luggage to a room unlocked is not the best experience. All in all a very unpleasant experience. Still no sight of the host. Not a nice experience to sleep with the door unlocked. Be aware of this when booking this accommodation.

Excellent value for money, comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen. Short walk to a really nice park on the lake, downtown with shops, museums and the market square not too far either. Easy self check-in. Toys and board games for the kids. Free use of sauna and barbecue.

The house was really great and authentic. Sauna was also included, although it was pretty mild (but probably it is ok to the visitors of south Europe). Location near the city centre was great and it was quiet.

It would have been noticed in the description that the room I booked (201) hasn't window, it was pretty claustrophobic. And there wasn't air conditioner or even fan and the room was too warm. Luckily there wasn't visitors of neighbouring room, so I took fan from there.

The house itself is indeed an old Scandinavian wood house and it was nice to know such a place also from the inside.

The house is nice but indeed very old and you could say a bit run down. That would not be so dramatic but it did not have internet access as promised in the advertisement. Every other accommodation business gives a high priority to internet access because it is a necessity for travelers. I asked them to fix it, yet nothing happened. I also did not like the fact that there are only two bathrooms and only a shower for the whole place. It is most likely not enough if the place is booked out. Finally, there is some very old stuff from other guests lying around, some of it might be useful, some of it is just crap that can be disposed of. This shows that they are not taking proper care of this actually nice house.

Really nice old house with all the facilities you need but it can be noisy

The location was great and the old wooden house was just as described with all the old style decorations. I especially enjoyed the sauna with the little area outside to cool down between.

I would not recommend the room 201, it is by the entrance hall, kitchen and common room. You will get disturbed when the last people come back from their night out and you will be woken up again when the first people wake up and start making breakfast. The window from the room also looks into the dinning room rather than outside.

Great place to stay on a low budget, but not a place for people with disabilities.

Perfect place for a low budget visitor with no disabilities. Nice, clean rooms, great kitchen with good facilities.

Loads of stairs. The sauna was a dissappointment, lots of cold air coming from under the door so couldn't get the heat up.
