We had to change the room because there was only extremely hot water and the air conditioner wasn't working.

The staff were friendly and it was fairly close to the old town, Guggenheim and funicular (although up a quite big hill from the river). The accommodation was basic but clean. We did not use the communal coffee-making facilities but the availability of chilled water was much appreciated.
The room was much less modern than the photos, and unlike other reviews was not very spacious. The bed was very small, and for some reason the room was dominated by two large steps which had a cover held on (unsuccessfully) using sellotape. The air con did not work, despite being advertised as a feature on booking.com (and a major reason for my selecting this hotel). The "hot" water was tepid at best. The price was not particularly cheap and I was hoping for something a little better than basic.
