Dreamland Guest House

重慶大厦の中にあるホテルです。 一階からエレベーターで上がる際、特に夜はエレベーターに列ができます。宿泊するホテルは5階なので、荷物がなければ階段でも上り下りできます。 室内は綺麗でした。ホテルと部屋の鍵もしっかりしていました。連泊しましたが、部屋の掃除も必要なだけ十分していただけました。 重慶大厦の良いところは、九龍の中心部である尖沙咀に位置しており、九龍公園や、港にも近いところです。アクセス至便で、観光がしやすいです。

フロントにあたるところは重慶大厦の別の棟の12階にあり、フロントと部屋の移動が少し面倒でした。

J'ai dormi dans plusieurs Guesthouse de Chungking Mansions et celle-ci est clairement l'une des plus propres où je suis allé. Niveau propreté c'était juste nickel 👌🏻 Tout s'est très bien passé et l'emplacement est top.

La réception, comme indiqué dans la réservation est au bloc C. Et la chambre se trouve au bloc D. Et c'est un peu embêtant de devoir aller récupérer la clé dans un autre bloc et même chose quand il faut la rendre. Surtout quand on a plusieurs valises ce n'est pas pratique en particulier à cause des ascenseurs trop petits.

The guesthouse staff received me very well. It was my first time in Hong Kong, and it was in the evening. To put a spanner in the works, I also had to fulfill a quarantine order, which meant that I would need to check in, and resume the quarantine period. Because I was from another country, I did not have cash on hand, and I expected the guesthouse to have a speedpoint machine, which would allow me to pay immediately, because I had cash on my card. They did not have a speedpoint machine, but they allowed me to check in in the interim. They also allowed me to extend my booking for the mandatory 2 week quarantine period. The wifi connection was quite stable during my stay, and it proved to be reliable. The staff at the guesthouse were also on hand to assist me with food delivery if need be. The location of the guesthouse is excellent, it's a stone-throw away from the metro, and is also walking distance to the Hong Kong skyline view on Victoria Harbour, and the Star Ferry.

As stated previously, this was my first time in Hong Kong. Fortunately or unfortunately, I arrived quite late in the evening, which did not give me much time to exchange the money I had into Hong Kong Dollars. I expected the guesthouse to have a speedpoint machine. They did not have one, which caused all sorts of problems later, because I naturally needed to pay. Because I was in quarantine, I could not leave the premises in order to make a withdrawal. Furthermore, they did not have WeChat Pay as a payment option when I arrived, which also proved problematic. I did move all the money I had onto my Mastercard, but for some reason, my bank needed extra authentication when using apps like Western Union or Transfer Wise. At some point, the manager was quite rude and condescending towards me, despite my best attempts to explain the situation to him. I did manage to make an alternative arrangement for the fee to be paid in full, whilst I was in quarantine. I had absolutely no idea about how the place and or area was like when I booked. Although the actual guesthouse was fairly clean, Chunking Mansions in general has plenty of room for improvement when it comes to hygiene standards. The room also had absolutely no natural light coming into it. I obviously had no idea this was the case. Furthermore, given that I would be in this room for 14 days, you can imagine how I was caught off-guard at this predicament. The place may be good value for money if you just want budget accommodation which is fairly priced. It may be a good idea to spend $50 more on an actual hotel.
