Bring your family to enjoy Three Timbers, our family's beautifully decorated and updated home, a classic timber-frame mountain chalet at Wintergreen. It's got year-round mountain views and is just a five minute walk to the Tyro ski slope - and now with a brand new hot tub!
Experience the wonder of all four seasons at the Wintergreen Resort in this fabulous property. With nearly 3,000 square feet of living space over three floors, this large home will allow for your group to spread out and relax.
The main level offers an open plan living, dining, and kitchen area with gleaming hardwood floors throughout. The living room is perfect for entertaining but still cozy and inviting. The kitchen is fully-equipped with stainless steel appliances, oven, fridge, dishwasher, built-in microwave, coffee maker, and plenty of counter space to prepare a delicious meal.
The dining table seats 8 comfortably - 10 if needed - and there is an additional table on the upper level that seats 6. Both dining and living areas boast painted white wood-paneled cathedral ceilings. The living room has overstuffed, slip-covered seating, a smart TV for streaming your favorite shows, and a wood burning fireplace. It is open to the kitchen area so you can enjoy a cocktail while chatting with the chefs!
The main level offers a large master suite with king bed (& down comforter!) and smart TV. The master bath has a double vanity and a large steam shower - perfect to soothe those tired muscles after a day on the slopes or hiking trails! There is also a cozy queen bedroom with another attached full bathroom.
There is access from both the main floor living room and master bedroom to a huge wrap-around deck with a dining table to seat eight and a large gas grill. The deck faces the private, oversized lot (>1 acre) with protected open space beyond for year-round privacy plus year-round mountain views. See if you can find the cool cave under the large rock outcropping!
Up the custom craftsman staircase is a large bedroom with a double bed as well as a loft area with two more twin beds and an additional table for puzzles, games, or additional dining for six. It's the perfect spot to stash the kiddos!
The lower level offers a very spacious second family room with foosball table, new smart TV, Wii game system with dozens of games and oversized reclining leather couches. There is also a second, large master suite with king bed, double closet and ensuite full bathroom. Finally, an additional queen bedroom and a fourth full bath are accessed from the lower level family room. This level also offers walk out access to a second deck with the hot tub, swinging loveseat, and more great views.
Bedding in the house includes down duvets and comfy pillows - our guests rave about the comfort of our beds!
Beautiful as it is, this home doesn't skimp on practicality, either. Strong WiFi (fiber optic service) and streaming TVs. Three Echo Bluetooth speakers. A large laundry/mud room with new washer/dryer and space to store jackets & ski gear is at the entrance of the main level, just inside the welcoming front porch. The home has new central heating and cooling - and two new Mitsubishi mini-split units - to keep your group comfortable in all weather.
There's plenty of parking, including a two-bay parking area at street level and room for at least three additional vehicles in the main driveway. The driveway is somewhat steep; if it is snowing or icy, we do recommend four-wheel-drive or tire chains.
You'll love this location. It is about 400 yards to the public access to the Tyro ski slope, less than three minutes in the car to drive to the restaurants and main lodge area, about 5 minutes to the spa and indoor & outdoor pools, and 8 minutes to the Appalachian Trail access. If you want to venture further, the famous Devil's Backbone Brewery is just 10 minutes down the mountain, and more of Nelson County's famous Route 151 breweries, wineries, cideries, and even a distillery are within 20-25 minutes' drive.

We were here in the off-season for a family gathering. The house was exactly what we needed! There was plenty of privacy for quiet time after our larger family gatherings and the kitchen and living area were well-suited for the meals we ate there and for quieter socializing. The number of bathrooms was also a big plus! Not to mention the view…! Would definitely stay here again.

This house is perfect for a stay at Wintergreen. Plenty of space for 2 families of 4. The owners did a great job with amenities - plenty of towels, etc in the bathrooms, plenty of cookware, spices, etc in the kitchen. It's an easy walk to Lower Tyro to ski but also an easy drive to the Lodge. We enjoyed the fireplace inside as well as sitting out by the gas fire on the back porch. We have stayed at a lot of different places at WTG over the years and this may be our favorite.

We enjoyed our stay. A very comfy and spacious home with plenty of amenities. The deck was awesome for morning coffee and evening meals.

The owners of the property were wonderful to work with. It was a very peaceful vacation, and the home was perfect for our family. The home needed a better clean in the kitchen and basement bathrooms, but we definitely managed just fine! I would recommend the home.
