Mill Cottage

Really cute little cottage. Space wise it had absolutely everything you would want and felt very homely. The location was good and a nearby coop shop was very useful, as was a garage to get petrol at a reasonable price. The outside space was lovely, although not very private but really nice to sit outside with your morning tea/coffee. Very traditional inside, and very "Cornish". Kitchen well equipped and other little touches like a drying frame under the stairs in cupboard was very helpful. Also had a bath and a shower which was very welcome.

All the mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. I think they were very old and I would really recommend replacing them. We chose the cottage as a friend came for a couple of days and so the second room with single beds was a must for us. However one bed (furthest from door) was very bad. The mattress sloped and was very lumpy and over soft. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor on the second night to make it bearable to sleep on. My friend and I swapped bed, trying the double on in main bedroom but they were all soft and lumpy and really uncomfortable. So much so that I really struggled to sleep and get comfortable on night and ended up getting up and watching TV to try and fall asleep on the soft. The cottage is so cute and lovely that this was a real disappointment and I would really recommend to the owner that they replace these old mattresses. Hate moaning but it really was a problem sadly.

A lovely barn conversion within an easy walk of Fowey and surrounded by fabulous walks.

Furniture a little dated

Location was quite and good parking

Wrong key code given, no instruction to connect to the wifi and brambles across the path to the front door

Great location for walking down in to Fowey (despite the steep climb back up!).

The interior walls are paper thin upstairs! No bottle opener in kitchen - husband couldn’t open his beer! The driveway in to the cottages would benefit from some lighting (pitch black when returning at night).
