This place has character and is very budget friendly.

The location was very close to the city and a short walk yo the beach. It is on a side road which we loved because it is away from the main traffic noise. The hosts were so kind and accommodating. Always smiling. The gas station mart is about a 7 minute walk to get bottled water and snacks.

We left early. We smelled cigarette smoke from people smoking outside the door even with it closed at different hours of the day and night. The neighbors have roosters that wake you. We heard a dog barking sometimes, but it ended quickly. The shower in the bathroom was a bit too much for us. The shower is right next to the toilet. You close the wooden door and shower off with the hand held hose. After walking around, we were disgusting from the humidity and always felt the need to do a quick rinse but we hated the shower so we didn't. There is no breakfast at the property which we were aware of, but wanted to mention for future readers. The walk to the mart was short, but traffic was insane. You have to cross quick and stay as far to the side as you can or else you can easily get clipped by a bike.

Good and budget friendly room for short stay in kuta, bali

Name of the rooms (mahabharata and ramayana themed) and little garden.

They don't do cleaning or change bedsheets while you are staying. So, if you are in kuta for short stay like less than a week, it is good guest house in budget.

My stay at Pondok Taksu Bali was warm and welcoming, with clean and comfortable rooms, friendly staf

The rooms are “very clean,”, with good water pressure and no bad smell in the bathroom. staff for being kind, soft-spoken, and going out of their way to help

Lack of soundproofing/privacy Rooms may allow sound from adjacent areas. we could hear outside conversations or noises

Good value accommodation

All of the staff/ owners were so helpful and friendly. They made you feel at home so much that I extended for another night.The accommodation was good, clean,soap provided, toilet roll, a kettle, fridge, and tv. It's not a bad location, everything within walking distance. Good value. I would recommend it.

The only downsides were that the bed was a little uncomfortable for me. One side of the mattress is more worn than the other. The towel, especially, needed a boil wash and the bedding, including the pillows.

Excellent value for money

The staff at the homestay were so friendly and welcoming! The room itself was clean and comfortable. I was travelling alone and visiting for a week so it was perfect for me. The location was perfect - only a ten minute walk from the beach and there were plenty of shops, coffee shops and restaurants nearby.

My stay was perfect. I would definitely consider staying here if I visit Bali again.

Not a good experience wouldn’t recommend.

At the beginning it was good but then little while little things started getting worse like there is a hen who keeps on shouting 24*7 like literally trust me on this you will be disappointed at night while sleeping and its frustrating after a long and tired journey

At first, everything seemed fine, but gradually things started to go downhill. There’s a hen nearby that literally won’t stop making noise—24/7. Trust me, it’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to rest after a long and exhausting day. I stayed there for two days and requested a fresh towel, but the staff told me they were out of stock. That was surprising and disappointing. Normally, you’d expect at least basic housekeeping—like clean rooms and fresh bed sheets—but even a simple request for towels was denied.

A comfortable & affordable relaxed stay in a delightful facility

Very cosy and well appointed small rooms. Facilities excellent as were the staff , very comfortable and relaxing. Wifi excellent & TV great reception.

A little out of the way but this could be seen as a plus for many folk. Actually it was in the heart of a lovely part of Kuta.

Surprisingly good, I would use again

The price was very fair. Wi-Fi worked well, fridge in the room was helpful, AC was reliable.

No compliants at all. I read quite a few negatives when I booked and was a bit worried, it turns out that I suspect most of those complaints were from entitled people who dont understand the world.

- very friendly and welcoming staff - unlike other comments I found my room to be very clean - very comfortable bed - lounge area on the terrace with chairs and table - close to the beach and to places of interests - boiler with coffee + clean water dispenser in lobby - good location - very cheap place

- the shower was very very small - soap dispenser was empty

Lovely little home stay. Friendly staff they are truly helpful, beautifully decorated in Indonesian style, a lovely little garden to sit in. Our room was bright and comfortable, room size was great and bathroom was a good size. I really enjoyed the place, met lots of people who come and go, the area is great. It’s quiet maybe sometimes you’ll have a dog bark but that’s natural. The area is Easy to walk around and talk to locals.

Disappointing

When I arrived, there was no one at the hotel and the gate was locked. There was a note with a telephone number that guests should call (which I couldn't do since I didn't have a local SIM card). Luckily a neighbor was arriving at the same time and helped me contact them and about 10 minutes later someone showed up. They were very friendly, and explained that the room I had book was not available anymore (even though I hadn't been informed about it before and the payment had already been done) and I would get a "free upgrade". The room seemed clean at first glance, but it didn't take long to realize that was not really the case. There was a pile of dust/dirty under the bed, and hair on the bathroom drain. I was only there for one night and would not stay again.

Pleasant

The A/C was working fine, the shower had hot water and the WiFi connection was very good. The stuff is friendly and helpful. There are a lot of cheap local places to eat nearby.

Not clean and noisy in the night. The room and the area in front of the room was not clean. I mean I saw them cleaning I just don't think they do it well. There was a spider web right on the bed and it feels like they didn't clean under the bed for a couple of months now. The place is not located on the main road but you can still hear the motorbikes passing by. There is also a local karaoke right next to the hotel that is very noisy up until late in the night and it sometimes starts early in the morning. And don't forget the roosters that start screaming at 4am.

The location is great, and the room is okay. The shower has hot water.

The walls are extremely thin; you could hear literally every little sound from the other rooms, even someones texting sounds. The room’s cleanliness is okay-ish, however it smells a bit moldy. The location is great, however (I think especially for a solo female), the way to get to the busy street is through a super dark alley with some noisy men.

The owner is just amazing help us out and bring us everywhere we wanted. Very cheap in Kuta and well located. I recommend this place 100% His son is amazing too Gusde and Wayan will welcome you with love and not just as a simple tourist . We know that when we will back in Bali we willl go back there 100% 🔥❤️
