Ulubat Castle Hotel

The location was good near to the tramway, and the breakfast was excellent and rich, the staff was very friendly and welcoming

The rooms needs renovation, it's old specially the bathroom and the AC, the owner said that he bought it lately and that he will be doing some big renovations in the rooms

Location The distance from tourist attractions was actually very convenient.

Hygiene & Cleanliness There was a strong smell of cat urine on the veranda in the dining area, and we saw a kitten with open sores. I understand Istanbul is known as a “cat city,” but that doesn’t mean sanitary standards should be ignored. Housekeeping was poor — upon check-in, the toilet, floor, and sinks had hair and stains from previous guests still on them. Laundry This hotel is fine for a 1–2 night stay, but we spent 10 days here with our family. We asked if there was a washing machine to do laundry and were told there wasn’t one, and that we’d have to hand-wash our clothes in the room, since the nearest laundromat was in another district. I later confirmed the hotel does in fact have a washing machine — we were simply lied to. As a result, we had to hand-wash everything, but there wasn’t a single hook in the room (not one, I’m not exaggerating) to hang clothes to dry. We ended up hanging large items out of the open windows. This hotel can really ruin your vacation mood — only choose it if you’re staying just a few nights. Breakfast The buffet looked nothing like the photos on Booking.com. The coffee machine was dirty enough that it felt unsafe to drink from. Overall, the food was not good. Air Quality There was a persistent smell of cigarette smoke on the floors and in the rooms. The ventilation didn’t work. Water Pressure Water pressure on the floors was weak, and in the mornings the water was shut off completely until breakfast ended.
