Azulejos Cais Sodré B&B

The location was good. The onsite staff was very helpful even though they didn't know much English. I liked having the couch and hangers in the sitting area. It was good to have access to the kitchen.

Having to go up 84 or so stairs to our room. At our age we really could not lug our luggage up to the 3rd floor and back down again; I don't know what we would have done if the fellow in the kitchen didn't bring them up and down for us. The communication was sometimes not good as I had to say the same thing numerous times. One of the doors was hard to open, we lost electricity and my husband is the one who got it back on, someone from downstairs open our door which was weird. The description said there was a desk and a washing machine but I didn't see either. The breakfast was OK with a choice of yougurt, hard boiled eggs, bread, small packaged muffins and cereal. I told them several times we would want a shuttle to the airport but we found out that the driver was not available when we asked about it as we were downstairs waiting. The mirror frame in the bedroom was missing pieces which is tacky. We would have appreciated being given some tourist information to help us plan our time in Lisbon, such as maps, brochures, recommended restaurants, etc. or at least how to find the nearest tourism office. We were given a bottle of water each the first day; it would have been good to have gotten more. I asked but we never got more.

We had the double deluxe room. I loved it! Very beautiful and vintage. The host contacted me before our stay.

That it was right by PINK STREET. Didn't know that this was a party street which got really loud after dark until the time we left at 6am.

This is classic with a lot of history. It was quite peaceful to even though we were in a busy and vibrant area. The staff and service were great.

There are a few maintenance issues. Shower head holder broken, water scolding hot(no need) 1 socket didn’t work. But niggles which can be easily fixed.

Location was close to lots of restaurants, by the water and Arco. However, because it is located around the corner from pink street, the night life becomes too intense and loud for us. If you have kids and not into the loud late parties, then definitely do not stay here. I am not exaggerating, people were partying until 6am outside the building. No AC so we had no choice but to leave the windows open and could hear the party people. It got rowdy and we could hear screaming, glass bottles being thrown and shattering everywhere. We were told by another guest that it was like that every night that they have been there so it wasn’t a one off. The suite was clean and spacious, it is definitely very old, tiles chipping from the walls but I guess it is part of its charm. It’s a clean place. It just looks very old. Kinda looks like an old hospital actually, a bit creepy but no ghosts haha. Staff was very quick to answer questions via WhatsApp. Plenty of beds (3 beds and 2 sofas) we only ended up using 2 beds and one sofa) We had the kitchen which was packed with everything you needed. Bathroom was spacious but the tub drain needs to be fixed. Water will go down the drain very slowly. Water fills up even with a 5 min shower. You’d have to wait at least 5-10min before another person can shower. We didn’t get to have breakfast there as we had to leave early for our flight. For one night it was okay. We didn’t sleep due to the loud surrounding but it was still ok. I don’t think i’ll book it again if going back to Lisbon with my kids.

Party area. It’s not the properties fault so it’s too bad as I really like the spaciousness of this suite.
