    We stayed for 6 nights while visiting our daughter and son-in-law. The hotel is clean and comfortable and staffed with very friendly people. The location is perfect for us. We are within walking distance to our daughter, many restaurants (Korean BBQ and Fried Chicken), a nice shopping mall and beautiful Ilsan Lake Park. We have stayed here the last three times we’ve visited and will do so again.

    This is my 3rd time staying at Sono Calm and it was because I was impressed the first 2 times that I booked a 3rd time. However the experience this time leaves much to be desired. First of all the front desk gave me the wrong room. I booked a double room but they gave me a twin room. And when I called them from the Twin room to clarify and asked if they can send me the key card to the correct room, they asked that I go back to the front desk to show them my booking again. I was at the West wing which is a bit of walk back to the reception. So I left my lugage in the room and went back down, got the key card to another Double room then went back to collect my luggage again. When I checked into the Double room there was an unpleasant smell and I soon found the source - the previous customer left their food waste (3 big bags) hanging at the open cabinet area! While this was not the fault of the hotel the housekeeping for some reason failed to pick it up so the 3 bags of leftover food were there when I checked in. I would have asked for another change of room but didnt want to go to the trouble after I had just changed once so I called housekeeping to come clear them. After waiting for like 20 mins I called them again as 1) I needed to go out and 2) the smell was really unpleasant. When a housekeeping guy finally came he was curt and obviously looked unhappy to be rushed for this. For the price I paid this time (like 3 times higher than normal due to a major event taking place in the area - despite the South Korean Government’s claim to clam down on price hike during major events), and to encounter all these was very unpleasant and upsetting.
