Friendly Hotel but Sleep Deprived.

The staff at this hotel need to be applauded for their hardworking attitude and friendliness, especially their housekeeping team, which i want to thank as I created extra work due to my change of rooms.

I personally don't request a lot as a guest - clean surroundings and a decent mattress. Unfortunately, the mattresses I experienced in the two rooms i stayed in were literally like lying on springs.

Very nice

Stayed here while attending a function in Central Newcastle. While we used taxis to get into town it was still much cheaper than staying in town. Our room was really nice and breakfast was very filling. When we next visit Newcastle we will definitely consider returning to the Great North Hotel.

I couldn’t find the hair dryer as is was packed in a bag! No plug point for hating boiling water for teA.. we had to lift the whole thing over to the desk. A mirror over the desk where plug points are would ideal for short people

Perfect location as a base for the city and area

Clean well presented room, perfectly located as only 15min walk from the metro. Staff really helpful when needed. Lots of free parking available at the hotel.

Doors are quite noisy when closing around the floor you are on, could do with adjusting the speed they close.

Family trip

A warm welcome from reception, all staff were so happy and welcoming made us all feel welcome and at home. Rooms were clean and very comfortable, would recommend without any hesitation. Breakfast was explained- fabulous choice and great value for money. Free Parking a bonus too. ☺️

Great friendly comfortable hotel.

We have stayed here many time and look forward to coming again, we come to visit my daughter who lives in Newcastle. I always book the Queen Size bed it's sooooo comfy I could stay a week. Lovely fluffy pillows, great walk in shower. Tea coffee, herbal teas, ginger biscuits. What more could you want. The 3 Mile pub adjoining the hotel is very popular and serves lovely meals. Can't wait to return.

Black mugs can't tell if your tea is strong enough., nothing else.

Good location for visiting family in Gosforth. Stayed here several times before and always satisfied with the hotel. Rooms quiet, even if there is a party going on at the hotel. Bathroom spotless with a good shower. Staff friendly and helpful.

A convinient hotel, almost perfect

An up-to-date hotel, convenient parking, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, comfortable bad and spacious bathroom

The room is quite small, it’s hard to open two suitcases simultaneously. The pub on the first floor is somewhat noisy, the music can be heard until late. This is not a problem if you are prepared to sleep with closed windows and the AC on.

Staff were very welcoming, plenty of food choice, lovely bar and room service. Bed was very comfortable

Rooms were a bit on the smaller side if stopping more than 1 night. The shower screen door didn't close properly, which caused the water to end up all over the bathroom floor. Hair dryer made an awful noise and smelt like smoke. And kettle base was stuck to the tray, so I had to move the whole tray to the other side of the room to plug kettle in as no plug were kettle was placed.
