Great staff, but misleading ad

The location can't be beat. You're right at the entrance to Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a great launchpad for day hikes in the park. It is also of a nice size, housing our large family comfortably. The property management staff are very responsive and definitely helped us feel at home! The price is also highly competitive for the location and size.

The pictures are misleading. One picture prominently shows an entrance that has French doors, a pool table, and lush greenery outside. But the reality we discovered upon arriving is that all that greenery had been bulldozed, and the house is literally within the construction site (not just beside). It was heartbreaking to see. This is not at all what we believed we had paid for. The property management were very kind and made the best of a bad situation, but a misleading ad like this is simply not excusable. We had planned our whole trip around enjoying nature, and unfortunately we had to leave the property and go on hikes to actually get to do that, rather than having the choice to do so within the property. We had two elderly family members who cannot hike, and for them, it was an even bigger disappointment, since they remained within the construction site during their vacation. There are other issues with the property, such as lack of hooks and towel racks in the bathrooms, worn out kitchen utensils, etc, but the staff helped with our requests in these categories, and these were just minor issues.

The location is good.

This house pictures on the website don't reflect the actual truth about the house conditions, this house need a lot of cleaning and remodeling, very poor communication and services with the person or company that is running this house business, bed are in bad shape and old , front door not really secure, internet and Tv never worked, and we just got a response the last day and we were instructed how to fix it, that not how thing work when we pay, bathroom toilet we also have to fixed, this house is nothing about what you pay for. Disappoint, booking.com should take a better look to this.
