Forest Cube

We didn’t go to the place. in the morning sadenly I felt really sick, couldn’t move. when we called to the hotel to explain situation and asked to rebook or maybe someone else could go instead of us, they said it’s own fault and won’t help us.

The cabin was very nice and clean

No towel service

The place is very new, nicely decorated and clean. The cube has a fresh smell of wood. The terrace and the window view from the bed are the best parts. We were lucky to be there on a sunny day to spend quality time outdoor, hear birds singing and watch the sunset with a glass of wine. Although it is not totally isolated from other cubes in the area, you still have enough privacy and quietness. About the interior: The cube itself has two levels. The ground floor has an open bed room, the joined living room and dining room, the kitchen and a small walking shower and toilet. The second floor has an extra bed room with a sliding door on one side and a bunk bed on the other side. The cube is spacious for a couple and just big enough for a family. About equipment: The kitchen has utensils, tableware and basic appliances like a microwave, a dishwashing machine with detergent tablets provided, a coffee machine, and an espresso. The living room has a smart TV. You can easily connect to your Netflix account or watch videos on YouTube. There's free Wi-fi. The bathroom has two rolls of toilet papers, so bring more if you go with more people. You will need to bring your own toiletries as well. About the location: There is an on-site parking lot and a supermarket (Aldi) about 15-minute drive. Noted that all the corner stores within distance are closed on Wednesday. About the service: You will receive these items upon arrival: 1 roll of kitchen papers, 2 fresh towels for cleaning the floor and the kitchen's counter top, a bottle of hand sanitiser gel and a disinfectant spray. You have the option to pay for the bedsheets and bath towels or bring your own. You will be asked to deposit EUR 200 in advance. Tips: Bring extra cleaning products like liquid detergents, hand soaps and towels. There are no basic ingredients like sugar, salt and pepper, so bring your own. Check the energy number in a small cabin above the toilet, so you know how much you consume.

The check-out time is very early, between 8 and 10 in the morning. On top of this, I received an instruction for cleaning up the place while I already paid for cleaning. You are required to remove all the used bedsheets and bring them to the reception like in a hostel. You are also required to clean everything you use in the kitchen and clean the floor before you leave the cube. It was quite intense for us in the morning to wake up early, pack, do all of this and make sure we check out in time. One minor remark is to have more hooks for hanging clothes and bath towels.

Forest Cube is a nice eco tiny house concept. Although it is advertised to stay with max. 4 adults and 2 children, we stayed with 6 adults. The balcony is ideally in case of good weather to enlarge the living room/space. From the location you have direct access to the forest for nice walks and biking paths. The location is a nice and maybe less known part of the Ardennes.

No real points we disliked. However we are wondering how sustainable the construction will be on a long term. Although our forest cube was brand new, we felt the construction moving when people walked around.

De bedden waren erg goed. Heerlijk geslapen. Locatie was prachtig. Keuken was van alle gemakken voorzien.

We waren er in februari en om het huisjes was alles van hout dat was spekglad. Strooizout zou alles oplossen. Nu zelf gekocht. De trap naar boven is glad. Antislip zou handig zijn.

Het was fijn dat het vrij nieuw was, en het was heel praktisch ingedeeld.

De trappen waren erg glad, hierdoor zijn zowel ik als mijn dochter van de trap gegleden.
