Saddle Rock Ranch B&B at West Sedona

I liked the location and beautiful views from our window and from outside. I liked that it was very private. I liked that it was just big enough for me and my husband. I liked that one of my favorite trails was right outside my door- Airport Loop Trail. I ended up liking the fact that there was no TV in this unit- at first we were confused because it showed a TV in the picture of the unit, BUT it turns out we did not need a TV- we did not even miss it and my husband and I were really connecting with each other! I would stay here again! I fell in love with it

There was not a microwave, which I thought the unit description said there was one there, but we made do with this weird stove top/fridge combo. There was not an actual regular size fridge- it was tiny and part of the stove top/fridge combo like I said. The main heater in the main room on the wall by the fireplace did not work but we found an extra heater in the closet. The heater in the bathroom did not work so we just moved that heater we found to the bathroom when we needed it, plus this unit is small- really just for two people. There was a major ant problem- they were crawling all over the bath tub at first. We sprayed ant spray there, then they were in the kitchen and in the corner of the main room and in my suitcase and dirty clothes sack- annoying but after we sprayed we only saw one or two- not a big deal. Also, I alerted the owner about the ants and that I had sprayed poison. They did send a guy out with some ant spray after I told her, but I had already sprayed so I sent the guy away. another thing that was very confusing- I thought there was a washer and dryer in the unit- there was not! There was one at the "main house" outside, but we didn't understand that until a couple of days in and I wasn't super happy about that situation. There were zero extra towels, washcloths, sheets, pillows, pillow cases or blankets in the unit which I thought was weird- we ended up going to Walmart and buying towels. I did ask the owner if there were any towels- like I thought maybe they just forgot or something and the owner said they were where the washer and dryer were- which was outside.... so that seemed odd to me. They did offer to reimburse us for the cost of the towels and washcloths we bought. I think maybe there needs to be a better description of things on the website- it was way confusing.

Location was perfect, view was exceptional! Just the right size for 2 people.

Steps up to the cabin were a little unstable and the lights at night did not work. Property overall could use some repairs, but the cabin we used was awesome!

Pretty scenery around. Good size. Fairly comfortable. Closet, tables, could cook a meal, there is stove top and pots and such. All around just pretty.

Not much guidance in questions I asked and there were many ants. Hard to find in the dark. Maybe change the door code, the numbers are worn down making it obvious what the code might be.

The location was very pretty and had a great view. It was as expected from the pictures. A truly convenient and lovely area.

There was a bad ant problem. The bed was covered with them when we pulled the covers back. As I sat in the chair near the bed working, they were crawling all over my computer and me. When I went to cook breakfast, the kitchen counter was covered in them, and they were also crawling on the bathroom sink and shower. The owners gave me directions to find ant traps in a storage room that could not be located. They said they would direct me when we returned, but that was going to be well after dark. I couldn't locate it in the daylight and I was not comfortable looking in the dark. The next day they said they would order ant traps at the hardware for us to pick up, but we were leaving. They did give us a refund of $100 for the inconvenience of the ant problem. They told us the people before us didn't say there was an ant problem. I'm not sure they couldn't have had ants as there were so many. We were able to find the ant spray in the cupboard and sprayed all around the bed before we left for groceries and that helped keep them off the bed. I also did not realize the extent of how far we would have to walk from the parking area. The person I was traveling with has had hip and knee replacements. There are no railings for her to hang on to for the walk. While the walk was not a problem at all for me, it was for her. If this had been noted in the description, I may not have rented this for her. Not possible for someone in a wheel chair.
