Nicolas Beach is a fabulous place to stay to enjoy the wonderful town of Palaiochora. We had room 8 (de luxe, with two balconies, one of which is huge) and our friends were in room 7, next door. Jacob, the Manager, helped us with the bags, with tips and with local knowledge. We had a wonderful time, and also appreciated the self-catering options after a week or so in hotels.
This would be an all-singing all-dancing 5* review except that the Wi-Fi was so bad! My global roaming service isn't great, but it was better than the Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is important to you, maybe check to see if Nicolas Beach has upgraded since May 2026 ...

Loved the big terrace, lots of space & light, perfect for my physio exercises.
Minor maintenance issues. Loose toilet seat, shutters that didn’t fully close, bathroom basin plug didn’t close fully, no plug in kitchen sink.
