Rose Lodge

Location is lovely, beds are comfortable, it's easy to find and had everything we needed (oven, hob, toaster, kettle and fridge). Owner also responded quickly when we had an issue with the shower door.

The property needs a refresh, the outside steps and decking felt very spongey and have screws sticking up, the downstairs bathroom only has a sticker for privacy on the windows which isn't ideal with another lodge right next door but thankfully there's a toilet and shower upstairs too. The shower door was broken but this was given a temporary fix by the owner while we were there which was appreciated.

Fantastic position, surrounded by fields and overlooking a lake. Facilities were good, with a couple of pitch & putt golf holes and a lake with kayak and fishing available if wanted. Well located with easy access to many local attractions and less than an hours drive into Bath. Postcode sent by hosts took us straight to the property. Lodge was comfortable for a family of 5, quiet, well equipped, had excellent heating for a fairly chilly October week and hosts left a lovely welcome pack on arrival. All in all a great, relaxing stay for a few days and would definitely consider returning if we visit the area again.

Shape of lodge means that there are several restricted height areas. Could be an issue for taller people but wasn't a surprise as is clearly shown in photos on advertisement. Bathrooms do not have any heating and get extremely cold. Heated towel rails would be perfect.
