Beautiful location; very spacious cottage. We loved watching the sheep nearby and the landscape is just stunning.
We were cold in the mornings and evenings.
No tea/coffee offerings.

South lodge is beautifully situated amongst green fields as far as the eye can see. The view from all 7 windows is breathtaking. There is no noise other than mother nature. The air is fresh. The lodge was cosy, clean and comfortable. Hot water available at all times. Mattresses super comfortable. Sofas super comfortable with stunning views. Kendal and Windermere within 15 mins drive. Hosts wonderfully welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. David introduced us to countless newborn lambs and even sent us home with a bag full of home grown hay for our pet guinea pigs.
Everything was perfect and highly recommend for a family holiday. Were a family of 4 and there was plenty of room. Central heating very efficient so our Easter holiday nights were warm and cosy. The shower is LUSH. Kitchen fully equipped with everything you could need. One fridge and seperate freezer so plenty of space for your food shop.

Lovely hosts, very helpful in many ways. The property is well maintained, clean, larger than it looks, great outdoor area, comfortable beds.
Everything was perfect.

Lovely location, clean and quiet with everything we needed. Hosts were very nice and welcoming.
Shower was good but could have had a stronger flow. Beds were a bit small.

Greeted personally on arrival. (this dying trend needs to be revived). The owner was 30 yards away if anything was needed (it wasn't). Location was great for dark skies photography. The lodge was clean and warm, even on the coldest of nights. I had to climb my car via the boot as the doors were frozen shut. Still toasty in the lodge. Pics on here make it look small. It is anything but.
Nearest shop was a fair distance, if you forgot something, it's a 20 minute drive, due to the single track roads. Just ensure you buy everything you need when passing the shop in Burneside (or in Kendal) This was my only negative.

Awesome location, cottage has all you need. Very pleasant.
Double bed is small and duvet is ... short. We did visit for the second time though, as it is a great place.

Beautiful location and very comfortable, well appointed lodge. The owners are very welcoming and helpful and it was great to be here during the lambing season as we were introduced to one day old lambs! Lovely walks locally and convenient if you want to venture into the central Lakes. Anyone who liked Postman Pat will be enchanted by Longsleddale, the valley that the author, John Cunliffe, based his stories on.
Nothing. All good.

Lovely peaceful location very isolated , just what we needed during the current climate .
Comfortable and clean , pretty much left to ourselves .
Unfortunately the WiFi was very hit and miss , going off fairly often , usually not a problem but neither mine or my wife’s mobile provider could give us a signal so we relied on the WiFi to call home , not a deal breaker more of an inconvenience .
