Perfect holiday home!
Perfect property, really comfortable and in great condition. The location was more then ideal, 2 seconds from the centre of hay on wye and 20 minute was to a little beach for the kids. Coffee and book shops galore! I have to comment… the knives were amazingly sharp! Normally an issue in holiday homes! Little things like that really made a comfortable stay. We were concerned with reviews about parking, we have a 7 seater car. But no issues… could have used the roof box too.
Just take some insect killer! Some rooms were worse then others, but a location issue rather then the house itself! The kids were pathetic with anything that flew!

Superb, comfortable property in a great location.
We stayed at Hay Retreats for three nights in September to attend our daughter's wedding celebrations, just across the road in The Globe venue. The location was also convenient to access the center of Hay and its glorious surroundings. The accommodation was perfect, spotlessly clean throughout and furnished to a high standard. The very modern kitchen on the ground floor contained everything we needed, was dog-friendly and had a lovely patio area to sit out overlooking the river Wye. The lounge was so comfortable, very well furnished, large TV and another balcony overlooking the river. All three bedroom were spacious, beds were comfy, we slept well! Bathrooms were kitted out to a high standard. All linen provided (bedding and towels) was of a high quality. There is parking at the premises for a small/ medium car and there is a nearby free parking next to the river just down the road. Key to the premises are in a key box next to the front door, the code for the box was sent to us prior to our arrival. In addition, our host was very helpful and responsive to our messages. We would certainly stay here again and thoroughly recommend this property.

Close to town, clean and welcoming.
Very little didn’t like but there was a problem with grating outside the house. It has buckled and several of us tripped over it. Needs to be repaired.

Brilliant house, lovely location and great for a family get together.
Excellent location and really easy to find. Access to the house via the key in a lock box worked well and no issues throughout the stay. Car port was great and visitor parking spots available if travelling in multiple cars as well as a free public car park around the corner. Perfect location to walk into Hay on Wye for a stroll around and great walks and views directly from the property. Great in house facilities, plenty of everything, no need to instantly wash up plates and cutlery, glasses cups etc after a meal ready for the next one. Rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. There was a toilet on every floor. Shower was excellent. Heating was good for a chilly evening. Really good house book explaining everything as well as local recommendations. All in all we would stay again.

Great location, well stocked kitchen and super beds
Plenty of room with a well equipped kitchen. So close to the town centre and river. Really beautiful bedding. Three toilets and good showers. Dry nice toiletries.
