Lochside Guest House

The rooms were freshly decorated. Adjoined room was great for teenagers. Lovely location with loch view from bedroom.

Smelt a bit musty. Area was a bit run down.

The view from the apartment is amazing, with ample parking at the back of the hotel. Good sized rooms and very nicely finished. Kitchen is well equipped and the living room has two nice and comfy sofas.

There are two bathrooms - one small but sink and shower are comfortable to use; the bigger one is spacious but there is no shower tray. The sink in the latter is very small and there is a small shelf/mirror on top of it. It's very difficult to wash your face without hitting your head with the shelf or spilling water. Sofa bed mattress is okish.

I'd almost never left any accommodation review - and now I did! Due to limited rooms this summer, I stayed two nights in the family room and four nights in the 'usual' room. Warm, hospitable staff (they even waved to me on the second floor while cleaning the rooms when I left the guesthouse!) and the priceless view of the loch. Praying I'm well and no doubt I'll be back! May Lochside Guesthouse be here and blessed forever ❤️

Great location right on the Loch and near restaurants. Breakfast staff were friendly. I got a last minute deal so value was good.

Reception was not very welcoming. I had to wait in the rain for some time before being let into the building. The staff member was not very friendly and did not explain where breakfast would be, for example. My room was at ground level on the roadside but there were no net curtains. The floor above was very creaky and noisy when other guests walked around in their room. This place was very well reviewed so I was surprised and disappointed by how basic it was. I think maybe the lochside rooms are much better?
