Hotel Marena

I did not get any message about that check in is in different hotel in the city, so when I arrived to the entrance in storm with all of my heavy luggage I saw a note that I have to check in somewhere else so I had to drag my stuff to the other hotel and check in. The person in reception did not sound like he has ever been in the other hotel. I went back in the storm and found out that I can not unlock the main door so I called the reception in the other hotel again, the receptionist did not know how to get in he said i have to use the key card but there was only normal lock. I asked if there is some other entrance. I explained where is the normal entrance and what is around and he did not know from description and said i probably have to walk around. There was not any note on the entrance door about some other door or direction to another entrance. I walked around again and after a while i found other door and got inside. Completely wet from rain i got inside and found elevator but it did not want to go up even when i was using my key card. So I had to carry all of my luggage up to 3. floor. there was no one at reception who could help me with the elevatorofc and it was only 17.00. When igot to my tiny room and wanted to shower and get warm there was no warm water in the shower and the water stream was super tiny. I wanted to make a tea to warm myself then. There was tea selection but not water boiler in the room, only a coffee machine.

It’s pretty much a motel, but completely soulless. For some crazy reason you have to check in at the Hotel Andrikken 500m away. Least helpful reception we’ve met so far in Norway. Exceptionally over priced.

There were no black out curtains and very difficult to sleep in midnight sun in these curtains. The owner was very rude. We requested for a special requirement for breakfast because of special dietary requirements in a very nice way. We were absolutely fine with them not being able to fulfil it. Instead the owner came to my room and told me "if u have special dietary requirements carry your own food". "It's not about what you can eat, it's about what I can provide". Water in tap was yellow.

Really good hotel! Very nice people

The room had a lovely view towards the lighthouse. Bed was so comfy and room temperature perfect. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic - lots of variety with fresh warm bread and croissants. Brown cheese and other cheeses offered.

Maybe a Norway thing but no face flannel in the bathroom and no fridge in the room.

location is perfect, basically in the center of the city. Breakfast is simple but decent and delicious. Staff also was nice giving us some tips around.

The staff were so friendly: drawing on area maps to help us find hikes and driving routes. The location is very central in Andenes, the breakfast was filling with delicious coffee (very important for us!), and they did a load of laundry for us which was greatly appreciated!

Great place to stay when visiting Andenes. Staff was very helpful providing information and accommodated our early arrival. Excellent value.
