The room was warm, cozy and super clean, the fireplace was doing great work, nice decor details, spotlights pointing the wooden roof, the bathroom was big and nice, the terrace was large with nice view, parking right behind the suite, traditional breakfast with quality.

I would like some more facilities in the kitchen (espresso machine, boiler for tea, knifes extra sharp)

Peaceful Mountain Experience

We mistakenly booked this place thinking it was near Pozar thermal baths. While only about 30km away as the crow flies, it was nearly an hours drive from Pozar. Way way up the mountains on twisting, winding, mountain roads, this place was an experience. We booked somewhat off season (September - whereas it seems this place really gears up for winter tourism) unbeknown to us. The host however did call to tell me as best she could that the place wasn't really fully open and therefore the restaurant would be closed and not be doing dinner. She did very kindly offer that her mother would make us a Moussaka if we liked. Nice comfortable rooms, lovely balcony, really peaceful area, nice spa bath in the bedroom. Great breakfast with plenty of home grown ingredients.

The place was not really fully open, and a few things seemed to be missing from the room. There was no kettle, or even pot to boil water on, though there was a hob in the room. We did knock on a neighbouring door late in the evening and the host was very accomodating and found us a small coffee pot, and some milk for us, which was very good of him.

A surprising treat in the North of Greece!

The breakfast was so much fun! We got served big platters of spanakopita, croissants, cake, grilled cheese and more delicious treats. Our hostess was super nice and other than the buffet, made my husband an omelet on the house! The overall ambience was cosy and mountainy. The 2 floor cabin was rustic and cozy with tasteful bedding. The hotel is situated in a ski village which was almost completely empty in summer. But the surrounding area was very beautiful and fun to check out. The lovely owner provided a really good info and recommendations sheet. Our whole family of 7 enjoyed ourselves.

The kitchen in the suite wasn't equipped enough for cooking, which forced us to go out for dinner (I guess that's not too bad!). The shower and bathroom were a little uncomfortable though the kids loved the "smart" shower.

The room was in excellent condition, with simple yet lovely decorations. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and gave excellent advice about nearby activities. The service was extremely prompt. Breakfast involved local products as well as well known flavours (pies, croissants, hams, jams, cakes and local specialties). The fireplace gives a lovely homelike atmosphere.

An amazing and unforgettable experience

Super friendly hosts and staff, delicious breakfast, clean and spacious facilities of exceptional quality, panoramic views of Agios Athanasios and the surrounding mountains, 5 minutes walk from the village center. The sauna and the jacuzzi made our stay even more soothing and relaxing. Would definitely choose to stay again in Rouga in a future trip to Agios Athanasios.

The breakfast was great. The hotel is in the village so you dont need a car to go for a walk or a coffee. The service was great, everything we asked was delivered in the room. edessa waterfalls are 35 minutes by car also nymfaio is 50 minutes by car. If there is snow of course you can go skiing. Perfect for relaxation.

Very kind and welcoming people making you feel as being at home. They welcomed us with homemade traditional liqueur upon arrival. You should definately taste homemade desserts and marmelades. The room was clean and cozy.

I think it was the best property we've been with my wife. Super friendly easy going staff, super helpful with everything we needed (they even provided useful info for the surrounding area) and we got a free upgrade! A must go location! Wonderful location, amazing hosts, superb rooms

We stayed for just one night in the summer. The rooms are spacious with a rustic style with all the amenities of a nice hotel. The hosts were amazing going out of their way to accommodate us and they also surprised us with pleasant gifts. The location speaks for itself. Just look at the photos. 10/10 from me. I will be going there for sure next summer

The only thing that needed to be fixed was the Wi-Fi signal in the room. Everything else was wonderful

A relaxing and happy few days.

We wanted a break from the noise and heat of the city and we got exactly that. The location is beautiful, with fantastic hikes all around and breathtaking vistas. At Rouga, we were greeted like friends. The owners are lovely and welcoming. Lina, at the reception, is a jewel and a treasure trove of valuable information on what to do and where to go. We got upgraded to an independent flat, very comfortable and cosy, with a gorgeous terrace where we could (and did occasionally) have breakfast there, instead of the beautiful courtyard. Our small dog was treated like royalty by all - the hotel is more than “pet-friendly”, they actually really love dogs. We would certainly visit again!
