Paradosi Rooms

I stayed at the Paradosi Rooms after a 26h voyage down the Adriatic. The ship was late so I arrived around 11pm, give or take. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area about 1.5-2.5km away from the bus station/port. The owner (?), Pedro, had to be called down but was still very friendly despite the late hour and showed me to my room without any hassle. He also gave me a free water, which was a nice gesture and they gifted guests with a little jar of local honey. Sweet. The room looked very nice. It had a reasonably sized bathroom and kitchenette, too. Most of all I liked the dark wood paneling behind the beds, which looked quite elegant. The room was immaculate. But I was completely exhausted and thus took a quick shower and went to bed, which was comfy. Since I checked out at 8am I can't say anything regarding the breakfast. The reception was manned by a lovely guy and his adorable dog , Ionna (possibly spelt wrong). Since I had really needed a long sleep I was a little late, but he took pretty much care of everything in a jiffy. Calling me a cab, checking in with the bus station for a trip to Athens and making pleasant conversation in between. When I left the hotel for the cab, Ionna (who has athritis) got up to greet me and I still very much regret not taking a minute to pet her. So sweet. As for the negatives, there were some small issues. For one, there was no warm water at night. It was late, but in general I like to take several showers during a hot day, not least before bed. The air conditioning was either in power saving mode or not very effective. Room temperature was fine though, so it wasn't a problem. Finally, the sound proofing isn't too strong. As mentioned, it had been a long trip and I called home for a sec and then heard some knocking after a while, I presume by Pedro, who could obviously hear my call. Alas, this is a very nice place to stay, possibly the best in Igoumenitsa. The staff are great and I'd definitely come again if in the area.
