Pension Conacul Vanatorului

Basic breakfast, eggs, cheese, vegetables, cold cuts. Room was basic, well heated, good water pressure

Access to location and parking is a bit challenging.

Locatia si serviciile au fost foarte placute, interiorul frumos decorat.

Accesul la parcare este dificil, exista parcare la strada dar nu este marcata.

Pozitionarea pensiunii, micul dejun, privelistea.

Prima camera nu prea a corespuns cu pozele dupa booking si am rugat sa ne-o schimbe a doua zi. Am platit extra si s-a rezolvat. Totul ok. Ar fi fost bune plase antitantari la ferestre pt a dormi cu geamul sau usa deschisa.

The food was good and the staff were extra friendly. The chef was flexible and made extra or different food on request e.g. we asked for a soup for my 1 year old daughter and we got a very nice carrot/cinnamon soup or we asked for an extra crispy oven baked chicken because the others were a bit too juicy for the children and they acoomodated for that too. I also liked that we were allowed to check-in with our dog which also made a friend out of the owner's dog, a very nice white golden retriever. With the permission of the owner I took both dogs out on the hill behind the villa to play where they fetched the ball together, and then wrestled until they got tired. The access road is a challenge but not as bad as i've read in the other reviews unless you are an inexperienced driver in which case i do not recommend taking the hill on. Out of 4 cars we came with only 2 were 4x4 and all 4 climed the hill with no issues, just use 1'st gear and don't let off the gas.

We rented 4 rooms, each with it's own set of issues. The toilet push button was coming off the wall every time we flushed in my room, the bathroom heater/towel-dryer was so rusted it looked dirty, the sink in one of the other rooms was clogged when we checked-in, the bed in my inlaws' room squeaked so bad it was hard to sleep, one of the 4 rooms was not clean, you could see dirt on the carpet and the bathroom had a foul smell. The pictures indeed do not show the real settings of the villa, there are other houses now costructed around it. Although the staff were all extra friendly you could tell they were not true professionals, none had hospitality training. You could tell by the informal language they used or how they approached us as guests and the types of questions they asked. At times it felt like we were a friend of a friend's house rather than at a hotel.
