Staindrop Hotel

Being disabled, it was great the accessible room was on the ground floor and close to the entrance. Very large bedroom and a wet room close by.

There were some guests whose children were very badly behaved. Neither the parents nor the staff did anything to stop it. This spoilt the stay.

Very clean staff friendly and professional service by all the staff

Absolutely loved our stay! The rooms were lovely, spacious and very comfortable, with a great en-suite. The breakfast was excellent, with the option to upgrade to a cooked breakfast, which was a great touch. There are shops within walking distance, and the hotel has some great amenities. The staff were particularly lovely — friendly, polite and welcoming throughout our stay.

The only real downside was that the rooms were quite stuffy, and unfortunately the windows don’t open very wide, so it was difficult to get much fresh air into the room. This did make it a little uncomfortable at times, particularly at night.

Not sure about the breakfast, I think it needs improvement. The avocado on toast was left open and dry. I did not eat breakfast again after the first morning. Staff were welcoming and nice. Approachable and easy to talk to which I like so much.

The noise level and commotion from other guests in the corridor was very uncomfortable and disturbing sleep. The rooms are not noise proof, you can hear other people clearly. There were cobwebs and dust in the room. Stains inside mugs. Towels feel very dry to skin, though I came with my towel as I always do when I travel. Toilet had urine stains on the seat, I had to clean first before using it. Stains on sink. Reception area for guest wasn't very clean, had litters around.
