Old fashioned, very quirky

I stay here for convenience and friendly, helpful staff. The beds are not the softest, but it’s quiet and in a great location

Incredible value for money; at the price paid I wasn't expecting much but room was a good size, bath even had a jacuzi function. Convenient location for town centre, ample parking available.
Area and exterior of hotel looks a bit run-down. No breakfast available but easy walk into town centre, where there are many choices.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. Absolutely disgusting customer service. I asked if I could have a late check out of just 30 minutes and they said if I was so much as 1 minute late checking out they would fine by £28. Do not stay here.
There was nothing good about this hotel, one of the worst I have stayed in in the UK.

It had everything I needed for an overnight stay.
There was nothing that stood out to me as being dislikeable.

The location is great, and it has free parking. The room is clean and comfortable, but not very large. The hotel also gives out free bottled water. It is an old property, which is nice as it does have character. There are plenty of places to eat withing a short walking distance.
The hotel does not seem to have been decorated or updated for a long time and is starting to look a bit tired, they no longer serve food.

Nice sizeable room. Cosy decor. Great price.
My experience was far different to many of the negative reviews.
Room had the usual kettle, fridge, condiments and even a microwave!
Very good size TV unlike many other 15"tvs in other hotels.
Has free WiFi but I didn't use it.
Lighting in the room was not good enough, lots of different lights, just no output.
Bathroom had numerous broken tiles and very poor overall finish, but the actual items(shower, bath, sinks etc...) were fine.

A bit cramped in the room

The staff were friendly, free parking was also a bonus. The room was actually lovely, with a comfy bed and lots of space.
Some of the facilities in the room didn’t work, but it didn’t impact on the comfort of the stay as the essentials were covered. Some of the furniture was stained, clearly from being old.

Location quite central. Pleasant older property. Comfortable bed in sizeable room. Large bathroom with bath.
Careful on stairs.

It was very close to our venue. It was very clean and I think our suite had very recently been refurbished. Though it was a bit outdated, we found it to be perfectly acceptable and the staff were helpful and friendly
It looked as if it was closed from the front on the main road but around the back it was obviously open and ok if a bit outdated

It has a car park. Bathroom was OK.
Surly staff on reception. Paid for an Executive room with a “city view” lies. Five lights in the room, only two working. An electrical junction box on the wall outside the room that hummed all night. Kettle did not switch off when the water reached boiling. Decor dates back to the early 1970s.

It was dreadful. Dirty, noisy and of a very poor standard. You do get what you pay for normally but that was even worse. Booking.com should not recommend it. That's why we booked it.
It is just a very poor quality accommodation. A very poor standard.

I know the location so I know the hotel is an old building in a busy place basic decor but clean and a cheap price I am happy for the cost if you want luxury pay more elsewhere
Decor is old but what you pay for it is somewhere to stay at a cheap price I was happy

The only good thing is the space you get in the rooms.
I think booking.com should add on that this property is used as a hostel for immigrants and half way house for homeless people, we felt so unsafe, there was loads of people in the carpark getting drunk and doing drugs. We thought the cars were going to get broken into. The staff didn’t really want to help us or talk to us at all. The whole place is so dirty from the carpark to reception to the rooms are absolutely filthy. We paid £125 for one night and it wasn’t one bit worth it. The room stunk, was filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly in a long time. I would avoid this at all costs.

The lady that checked us in was nice.
Groups of long term(?) Residents loitering around the car part and entrance. Made us feel unsafe. Footprints up the walls of room. Dirt/dust everywhere. Microwave appeared to have been dropkicked across the room. Water left in kettle. Room was so hot it was cooler outside, (hot summer weather) we had to go buy a fan to even attempt sleep. No breakfast which is just as well given the state of the room I wouldn't trust any food served there. Nice view of a roof and a wall through dirty windows.
Called the Three Queens had reference to two, it's a mystery to who the third one was?

Loved the 2 floors feature and loved how comfy the bed was.
The room was very dusty. There were no tea bags only coffee, the jacuzzi feature on the bath didn’t work.

The staff were so friendly and extremely helpful ...the lady that was on when we arrived late....was extremely helpful and polite .... (Many thanks Lisa :-)
That we couldn't grab a drink (of the alcoholic variety) ... and a snack... we were hungry and tired

The Elizabeth Room was vast for one person. I was shocked to see the huge bathroom with a jacuzzi, it's a pity I could not take advantage of it. It was good to see a long length mirror present. The wall TV was big but I didn't use it. There was a microwave and fridge, ironing board and hairdryer. Every thought catered for. The bed was comfortable. I only had a one night's stay, but that room demanded more.
Not spending more time in there.
