Agriturismo Monaco Di Mezzo

This place is ideal to relax. With great food, a pool and great views. While it is remote, it also is in the center of Sicily and most places can be reached in a day trip - especially with a motorbike. They asked if we wanted to take dinner there and it was fantastic!! The cook, Jasmina, really liked cooking and did an outstanding job.

Nothing gorgeous

Lovely location. Pool area gorgeous with beautiful view. THe staff apart from the receptionist were lovely. Dinner was tasty, authentic and plentiful

Our stay was let down by a really unfriendly welcome. We had walked 32km with a steady hour's climb to finish and arrived obviously tired. The guy at the desk just demanded our passports, took us to our room and then jumped in his car and left. he No words of welcome. No information about the wifi, times of meals, pool availability or anything. I was dying for a cold beer but he ran off before we could ask about that. We then seemed to be alone on site until the kitchen staff arrived 40 mins or so later. I guess he was just covering but it should have been made clear to him that his job was to make guests feel welcome, not just check passport, give keys and run off. It doesn't matter if he only spoke Italian. We're very happy to try our Italian and other hosts convey the basics without any language skills. As two tired and dusty walkers it soured our experience considerably. The room was very dark, a deep room lit only by a stable door. That's common in agriturismi but better lighting within the room would have made it less murky
