Lake District gem!

Spotless apartment, well equipped with little extras, like dishwasher tablets, tea and coffee etc. Very quiet location, with a village shop and pub both 50 metres away. Walks along the estuary to Morecambe Bay from the house, and above average pub food 1.5 miles away, at the Pheasant Inn in Allithwaite. A great base for exploring the Lakes.

So warm and cosy, we had a great stay here. The place was really clean and comfy and really spacious. The hosts had left thoughtful touches throughout the property, we really appreciated the little extras. We would highly recommend The Old Mill.

Lovely, relaxing stay, ideal base to explore the Lake District

The property was very clean and comfortable. It was a high standard and had everything you could need. Location was ideal, there is a shop 2 mins away which is very convenient.

Loved it, helpful owner, who came straight away to fix a problem with the T.V. Would recommend it.

Clean, modern flat. Everything you needed including Wi-Fi, Netflix and sky. Well equipped. Tastefully decorated. In a really good location for walking and reaching the lakes. Walking distance to Holker Hall which was beautiful. Good pub food in Flookburgh, a short walk away. A pretty village with a handy store just round the corner. Books, games, maps and guides all available in the flat. Tea, coffee, sugar, toilet paper all provided. Nice tables and chairs outside, so you can sit out the front. In a quiet lane in hearing of a small stream. Friendly, helpful neighbours.

The only thing I struggled with, was the hard mattress on the double bed. I needed to take paracetamol each morning for a painful shoulder and hip set off by the mattress. A soft topping cover of memory foam would help. We didn’t feel comfortable in the local pub, The Engine inn. Very poor choice of food. Mainly chips, burger or hotdogs, just felt a bit run down. But the Hope and anchor in Flookburgh was excellent, and only a short walk away.

Relaxing weekend in a lovely area.

Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Ideal location for local walks, Holker Hall, shop and pub. It was great not having to use the car all weekend.

Superb

Lovely place. Very clean and well equipped. Location lovely.

Heating was on all the time and it was a very warm. Also the radiator in the bathroom was very hot and we had our little boy with us and it was a bit of hazard for him so just think heating needed turning a bit and struggled with hot water when trying to bath my little one. But this would not stop us from staying there again. Would definitely recommend

Great relaxing stay

Lovely , comfortable clean and spacious flat with plenty of room for everyone to relax. Very well laid out and well finished and had everything needed for a relaxing stay with plenty of games provided for the evenings. Couldn’t fault it apart from the minor point below but would happily stay again and hopefully for longer. The setting is lovely but also very close to facilities. A great base for visiting my parents in Grange.

The double bed wasn’t long enough for a person of 6 feet in height and the duvet wasn’t big enough so caused duvet wars 🙂

Don't Great location. Ideal base for walks and catching up with friends. The place was really clean and was better than expected as i dont think the pictures do it justice.

Check in and check out time have big differences. Having a check out at 10am will leave guests to not enjoy prioperly the last night. I would suggest to adjust the timing and move it to 12

A lovely peaceful and comfortable cottage which is tucked away but within easy access of everything.

A exceptionally nice cottage. A very well equipped kitchen. Good shower and bathroom with separate toilet. Comfy area to sit. The cottage is very quiet being set off the road but it is within sight of the local pub for a very good bar meal. Everything was spotless. Such a lovely, comfortable homely place. Great location to access Grange, Holker Hall and the South Lakes. I would like to return.

This isn’t a criticism, more information to be aware of. There is a dedicated, decent sized parking space set slightly away from the cottage. It’s great that there is a space provided. The parking area is surrounded by low walls on 3 sides with a further low wall on the opposite of the track to the cottage. I found manoeuvring the car in this confined space to avoid hitting one of the low walls was tricky so be warned if your car is very long.

The property really is a home from home. It's large and airy and has plenty of space to relax and enjoy yourself. The furnishings are first class and there is such a lot provided for your stay by the host. Washing up liquid, washing tablets and toilet rolls were all provided for our arrival. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you would need to cook a first class meal. A lovely pub called The Engine Inn is within a stones throw and cooks fabulous meals. A shop is a very short walk away and if you don't feel like travelling far you can sit in the front garden listening to the river and watching the world go by. We certainly didn't feel anxious about visiting the area with the restrictions of Covid-19 in place. The property was very clean and plenty of hand washing products were provided. I would certainly recommend this property.

Perfect!

We had such a lovely relaxing break in this property. It’s certainly spacious, spotlessly clean and would suit families or older visitors. It had everything you would ever need - facilities were amazing and it was toasty warm. The laundry room was a perfect bedroom for our dogs too. Listening to the river and the birds as we were laying in bed made for a super relaxing break. Don’t have any doubts about booking this property- you will not be disappointed. We will certainly return 😊 Thank you to the owners for our festive treats!
