Mareneve Resort

This resort is on the main road from Linguaglossa to a central meeting point for hikes to see the summit craters (or as close as it's safe to get, depending on the day) for Mt Etna. I chose it for the amenities (air con, breakfast, hotel restaurant, and proximity to a town for more eating options), as well as proximity to Etna (30 minute up the road) and this hotel met ALL of those expectation and exceeded them in terms of staff friendliness/helpfulness, quality of the food, value of the lodging. Other things were also appreciated: parking was super easy and the hotel offered a lovely outdoor garden area with 4 Jacuzzis to enjoy). I stayed in one room with my two adult children (we all had a twin bed size) and I hope to return with my husband to do more of the many activities in the area. Oh- and Taormina is an easy 40 minute drive away as is the big city of Catania. Hotel staff speak English and Spanish as well as Italian and probably other languages as well. Highly recommend !

No on-site laundry, although this is very typical for Italy.

Relaxing and peaceful

Breakfast was ample and varied. Location also good.

The design of the bed frame is very nice visually, but the way the foot sticks out is a tripping hazard and dangerous.

Location is good (depending on the purpose of staying in this area), it is very quiet neighborhood and the staff is friendly.

We were staying a night in an “upgraded” room on the 3rd floor but sadly, it is a lost glory… not to mention that the temperature of water in the shower is not stable and you get cold and hot water shifts 😏 This is not nice at all! Food in the restaurant is of very average level (closer to the lower end), while pricing is the same as in Siracusa or Palermo. I travel a lot and visit many different places, this place is ok-ish for the short stay, but it is surprising that they claim the status of 4 stars resort, probably they think that the can compensate insufficiency by the view 🤷‍♀️ Surely, this is very personal view on things, everyone has own opinion/taste and feeling of comfort.
