When we entered the apartment, the floors were dirty, also the pools were unmaintained.

The town Jelsa is in the walking distance and we loved the town. The facilitatation is under the pine trees and relaxed. There is a public beach (made of stone like most of them in Hvar) very close to hotel and there is a private beach where you can rent sunbeds and the sea was amazing. AC was working just the right way.

Beautiful area, but It needs a huge renovation. It is just like the summers of 90s. The rooms, hotel, the pool, the pool bar, pretty everything is outdated. Swimming pool is definetly not enough and not chill. Parking can become a problem. Cleaning lady comes eveyday and changes the towel, but makes the bed and cleans, if she is in the mood.

This was our 5. time at Fontana since 2010. The entire resort is on overtime when it comes to maintenance. Everything from the apartment to the pool area.. In fact I do not think there has been any major maintenance since the first time we stayed there. So if we are going back to Jelsa in the future, we will not stay at Fontana. Based upon earlier experiences, we had not booked with brekfast or dinner. We tried the dinner buffét one evening. EUR 20 for one person is a scam, compared to what they did serve. Although there were several dishes to choose from, the kitchen had managed to overcook everything. It didn't look appetizing and didn't taste anything. You wil get much better food in Jelsa for a more reasonable price.
