The grounds are nice. Not as many animals as the reviews stated. Great breakfast and all staff was great!

Very enjoyable lodge. Nice setting next to the Caribbean, with gardens that attract lots of birds. A sloth was low down in one of the trees while we were there. Comfortable beds, good breakfast, courteous staff. It's a couple kms out of town, so you want to have a vehicle. Cahuita is a quieter, more relaxed town than Puerto Viejo.
One bedroom has AC, and after running for a while it cooled off the second bedroom, but would have been nice if the second one had a screened window that could have been opened.
