About this cottage rental
Sleeps - 2. This beautifully secluded but not isolated semi detached cottage is full of character with a stunning 14m x 5m heated swimming pool (heated 1st July to 31 August).
Set in its own grounds of 3 hectares, surrounded by panoramic views of the rolling Limousin woodlands, forests and open meadows. It catches the amazing early morning sunrise and evening sunset. It is totally secluded, not another property in sight, bliss !
The cottage consists of a lounge with open views and glorious sunsets, a kitchen dining area with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, cooker, airconditioning unit and heating if required. Ensuite bedroom with shower, toilet and wash hand basin, towels provided.
Please note this cottage is not suitable for handicapped people as there are stairways of approximately 6 steps to each of the 2 levels. Immediately outside you have a covered terrace, there's is an outdoor seating area with a BBQ (charbon) and sunbeds provided, all enclosed in your private garden. Parking space.
The swimming pool area is partially enclosed with access to a small gym and further sunbeds and seating.
Amenitiees on site : Badminton, basketball, table tennis facilities.

Your only neighbours are ourselves and we are very discreet.
This delightful peaceful property is reached by an enchanting path of 200m which can also lead you onto the local swimming lake Sagnat.
Lake Sagnet which can be reached direct from the property by 3 different woodland paths approximately 7kms round trip ideal for walkers, cyclists road and VVT, running, swimming, triathlete training, fishing is allowed around the lake , you do have to purchase a fishing permit ( request details )
Bessines sur Gartempe is a very pretty village approximately 5kms from the property where you have, restaurants, supermarkets, cafe/bars, bakers, butchers, banks and the motorway all within 6/7 minutes drive from the property and of course numerous markets througout the week in Bessines Sur Gartempe and the surrounding villages. Come the July 10th - 14th 2025 you have an added attraction of the Bandafolies festival, hugely popular with musical artistes, dancers, groupes etc from around the world and the firework display,

We stayed here for a week in August 2024. The property was great - it was so good to be able to be together as a family in one place. The house is well equipped, particularly the kitchen which has plenty of anything you might need.
The outside space was amazing and just what we needed to keep a wide age range of individuals occupied. Plenty of activities to choose from including badmington, table tennis, bikes and of course the pool.
The surrounding area is rural and peaceful - a great place to rest and relax. Whilst the Boulangerie and shops are only a few minutes away by car.
The weather was good for us which was the icing on the cake. Leslie and June were great hosts and were quick to respond when we needed any help.
Overall it was a great week for us and everyone enjoyed themselves, thank you.

Pool area and grounds are lovely. House was pleasant and characterful but bedrooms very hot and not air conditioned ( rather a heatwave). The property worked well for our varied ages. Kitchen was rather tired and aga and oven difficult to use. It would have been useful to have some basic instructions and information on the house, the area, refuse collection etc. The hosts were kind and were there when we arrived to show us round.

June and Les were excellent hosts. We had 14 people stay at their farm house and it easily accommodated all of us with plenty of amenities and towels, bedding for all. This is like a little resort with outdoor games, a beautiful pool and so much space that we were not cramped for space. 5 star VRBO and would stay there again when visiting the area.
