About this villa rental
Three trulli cones, an oven and an old “lamia”about a century old have revived the site’s ancient appeal thanks to an accurate restoration and expansion personally supervised by the owner, a young Milanese architect who has always been in love with Puglia and wished to bring La Pietraia up-to-date while paying full respect to its ancient forms, colours and original materials.
The structure was originally used as a shelter for the vine growing luxuriantly here, favoured by the rocky soil rich in the minerals of the sunny and breezy hills of Ostuni. In fact, La Pietraia takes its name from the typical beautiful white-rosy limestone of Ostuni with which its trulli were built a century ago and are now brought to life in all their striking beauty.
La Petraia offers:
- three charming double bedrooms, two of which stand within the trulli, the other one features also a private and comfortable walk-in closet, each having its en-suite bathroom and independent access to the garden;
- an attractive and cosy living-room, placed within the ancient “lamia”, with an old stone fireplace and wonderful views of the pool and surrounding landscape; a kitchen with all modern amenities; and a fourth bathroom for guests.
Yust beside and direclty connected with the main Villa, there is the lovely Trullo delle Rose annexe, a newly refurbished trullo suite with all conforts perfect for 2 or 3 person ,which includes:
1 double bedroom , 1 alcove perfect for an adult or a child, a fully equipped kichenette in a lovely living room, a bathroom, a lovely relaxation furnished terrace, a private gate and parking area.

- Every detail has been tastefully selected and installed, taking care to preserve the simple and authentic chic spirit of the place and guaranteeing an experience of elegant relaxation.

Outside, La Pietraia has: an infinity relaxing swimming pool with an enjoyable panoramic view; pleasant comfortable outdoor areas set in a Mediterranean garden with myrtle and mastic trees; a lovely dining area just below the olive trees in which to enjoy a “frisella” after a dip or dine by candlelight.
The spacious terrace on the roof overlooks a scenic countryside full of olive trees and forests of oak, providing an ideal spot to enjoy an aperitif at sunset.
The property is also equipped with wifi, Sky tv, climate control, automatic gate, video surveillance and a convenient and ample double parking area.

What a wonderful place to spend time with family.
The trulli’s are very nicely renovated and breath such a relaxed atmosphere, it’s all very well thought trough.
Nice swimming pool, fully functional kitchen, nice bathrooms. Sleeping in the trulli is the icing on the cake!
Contact with both owner and caretaker couldn’t be better, such nice and warm people, we will be back!

The late March weather was cold and rainy but we enjoyed our stay at Trulli La Pietraia. Everything was clean and inviting -beautifully decorated. It was centrally located to many interesting areas. Carola provided an excellent listing of location shops and restaurants. Would love to come back when the weather is warmer!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at La Pietraia at the end of May. The location was ideal for our touring of Puglia. The highlights were a visit to Lecce to see the baroque buildings in the old city, the old city of Alberobello with its ~1500 trulli, the grottos at Castellana Grotte and the cliff side town of Polignano a Mare. We also quite enjoyed our local city of Ostuni and found easy access to a very decent grocery store (Familia) which satisfied all our needs.The villa was very clean and comfortable and located in an enchanting setting. There were plenty of places to relax outside the lamia, by the pool, on the roof terrace or over at the outdoor dining table. In the evenings, the lamia was quite accommodating for the 5 of us. We used the pool quite a bit as we had some very warm days. The setting for the villa is quite peaceful and private. There are fruit trees and olive trees growing on the property. Each of the three suites was self contained and quite comfortable. The kitchen facilities were quite suitable for the occasional supper we cooked at home.On our arrival we were met by Ada who looks after the place. Her English was a bit limited but she had a great translation app on her phone, and I also spoke directly with Carola by phone. We were made to feel very welcome. Carola was very approachable through email and responded to questions very quickly.Ahead of the visit, Carola had contacted me to find out if we were interested in having food delivered on our first night. That was a great idea and we enjoyed a wonderful meal delivered to us by Daniele from his home restaurant near Ceglie Messapica. We enjoyed this so much that later in the week we went to his place for dinner which was in a fabulous trulli home with a huge outdoor wood fired oven. The food was very nice and lots of it.We were a bit concerned about the water supply because of the cautions about it being a tank that has to be filled by truck. However, we exercised a little caution with our usage and never had an issue.Overall, we had a great week at the villa and would have no problem at all recommending it to family and friends. Thanks Carola, you are a great hostess!
