Staff very helpful and breakfast good
Stayed here many times so know the score
It quite obviously needs a revamp, it has a nice old worldly feel to it

Cheap and cheerful
This is definitely a budget hotel, but it was in a central and convenient location, and the staff, particularly Jacinta in the breakfast room were cheerful and friendly.
The rooms were very small, so 2 suitcases were a tight squeeze, but the beds were comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep.
The bathroom was pretty clean, but perhaps some major work needs to be done on the presence of mould in the shower.

Fantastic introduction to the lovely Irish people and culture.
The actual facility was pretty old and needs to be upgraded but it was clean. The staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and so welcoming. Nothing was a problem. Would stay there again
It is very noisy outside at 6.00 am every morning with the street cleaner. It's not the Hotels fault though. As said above, it is really old and needs a lot of internal work.

Great value in the heart of Clonmel
This is a great small hotel in the heart of Clonmel within walking distance of everything in the town. The value for money here is very good. Hotel itself is a little old fashioned but that might be a bad thing. Breakfast was a small selection of cereals and cooked - more than enough and generous. Beer well kept anyway! Everything worked so perfect for a place to put your head down.
Could have filtered coffee in the breakfast!
Place needs a little TLC perhaps but again for the price one can over look
Beware there are stairs

Historic hotel, centrally located.
Fennessy´s was a great value for the money. The staff was overwhelmingly helpful and kind. The room was clean, the breakfast was delish. It's also centrally located and close to everything, with a view of a beautiful church, and a historic feel throughout. There's a pub on the street level with an ancient, offbeat clientele that have popped right out of a Tolkien shire. All in all, a very nice place.

Staff very welcoming, great value for money and great location
Although the property is a bit outdated and in need of a bit of decoration, I actually liked the old fashioned vide of the place.

Worst hotel i ever stayed at
Did not like anything
Where to start. Room was dirty. Headboard broken on bed. Springs coming through on the mattress. Duvet cover was torn. Black mold around the shower cublic. Couldn't have a shower because of the dirt. Breakfast was cold. Hot water for the tea came from a hot water boiler. Milk was left out in the heat. Cooked breakfast wasn't cooked fresh. The staff didn't come near us as we had breakfast. Was a water leak in the hall during the stay . Theirsolution was 2 put buckets underneath . By the end of the stay the celling was about to fall in. Told my concerns to the manager but to no avail. She said the owner would get in touch but of this evening. No one has got in touch.

Great Potential Lost
The location, the staff, the price, the breakfast, the historic building... the hotel is near the top of Gladstone St, opposite a striking church - a very central location. The staff (I met 4 quickly) were all pleasant, friendly, and helpful. There was a good buffet breakfast as well as a cooked one. The price was good.
Unfortunately I cannot give a score of 6 as I cannot describe the stay as 'pleasant'. Despite the grand and atmospheric building - staircases, statues, paintings, portraits - the hotel is neglected. There is a cleanliness issue. The carpets look like they aren't being vacuumed regularly. There were food crumbs and cobwebs around the dresser in the breakfast room. The tablecloths in the dining room were - I'm sorry to say - manky (dirty). There seemed to be dirt on the cup in the bedroom as well as hairs in the shower. Other issues were no TV remote in the bedroom as well as no towels or bath mat. The kettle needs to be taken off the table and placed in the bottom of the wardrobe in order to be able to be plugged in (alternatively plugging out the TV). A staff member gave me the key to the adjacent room to take a remote, but at that time I hadn't noticed no towels in my bathroom, so I went back to take one (bath) towel from that room (and didn't get a chance to report it to reception as you have to ring a bell). I also noticed that the room I happened to book - twin with 'mountain view' was NOT what I got. In conclusion, this hotel has so much potential, but the only conclusion I can think of is that there is no one to stand up and take pride in its appearance. People might mention renovation cost issues, but it does not cost much to vacuum or keep clean tablecloths etc. and low prices are not an excuse for basic standards not being met.

There’s good and bad but the bad is far outweighed by the good.
Great staff, each of whom tries very hard to make your stay comfortable in a hotel with all the basic facilities and a very convenient location. In particular, a GREAT breakfast.
Some minor aggravations that can be traded off when bearing in mind the excellent staff and convenient location.

Great Value Stay in Tipperary. Simple, Safe, and Comfortable
We stayed here for a nearby wedding and found this place to be great value half the price of others in the area.
✅ Done Right:
Twin room was clean and comfortable with a view of the street and church.
No noise inside, very peaceful thanks to respectful guests 🙏 Outside was a bit lively late at night (we got back around 12:30 AM), but it felt safe and the narrow streets perhaps the voices felt louder. But again didn’t bother us in the slightest. Being so tired we fell quickly asleep Beds were comfortable and two pillows on each bed was perfect (comfortable too).
Breakfast:
Tasty and simple, sausage, egg, bacon, DIY toast, tea/coffee, and juice. We went down at 9:30 and had the place to ourselves—perfect. Staff in the breakfast area was lovely and not intrusive left you to your own.
Other Perks:
We parked at the Reheen Hotel for free, loads of space and only a 10-minute walk into town. No need to drive in. This place is not a fancy 5 star, but it ticked all our boxes: safe, clean, quiet, and close to everything we needed. Would stay again!
No shampoo, conditioner, or hand gel provided, so bring your own.
Towels are provided along with hairdryer.

"Pleasant " ????? That's a joke right!
Be aware Be very aware
Nothing I booked for 2 nights and left after one dreadful night .
I left the key at the unattended front desk.
It's described as "pleasant" however that is a total misrepresentation of the place.
The pictures are in no way a reflection of what the place is actually like.
Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes description of Limerick hovels is more akin to the what's in store for the misinformed travelling public.
@ Booking.com a refund should be forthcoming for this total misrepresentation.
This was one of the most disgusting places I have ever stayed in other than India.

Great location, friendly staff at a rock bottom price
Great location and a wonderfully welcoming staff - whilst a faded glory, it was exceptionally good value for money, Beds were comfortable and clean whilst water pressure and good water temperature made for great shower. Central location was ideal, and the bar and the staff made for a pleasant stay upon return to the hotel. Breakfast was good and cooked to order - overall, a basic and dated hotel brought upwards as an experience by the friendly staff
As I said, a faded glory with an long overdue need for refurbishment and updating but it suited us and for such a price
