The best food we've ever had in a guest house.

Peter and Ernest are wonderful welcoming hosts in this memorable and unique place. Peter's cooking is amazing, his dishes are all delicious, tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. We enjoyed all 3 of our evenings here, we were so glad that we opted to have a 3-course dinner each night, sat cozily near to the log fire (it was January!). The breakfasts are amazing too, different each day, and served in the sunshine overlooking mountains and sea. The property is quiet and relaxing, very tastefully furnished, lots of nice places to sit and enjoy the peace and the amazing outlook. We loved the thoughtfully designed garden, and of course the cats!

Almost nothing, but we thought the bathroom without a door was a bit unusual. The property is also one of the highest places in Aigues, at the top of a winding road, so it's a bit of a walk if you want shops and cafes...although this was a highlight for us because it was so tranquil, but we'd recommend having a car if you want to explore.

An Absolute Gem!

Ernest and Peter were the absolute loveliest hosts. They made our stay an incredibly enjoyable and pleasant one. They made us feel welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived and were so helpful and attentive throughout. They sent lots of suggestions via WhatsApp of things to see and do, including giving us a few gems of food recommendations too! We even bumped into the in town one night at dinner. Rather than feeling like they wanted to be left alone, they came over and chatted with us recommending a few tapas dishes to try. The breakfasts each day were such a treat! We loved the variety, freshness and creativity of each course (yes, there were multiple courses at each breakfast, including freshly baked desserts - carrot cake for breakfast…yum!!) We also enjoyed a delicious dinner with our amazing hosts and their other guests. At first we weren’t sure we would have dinner there as they had family visiting and we didn’t want to intrude on their special time together, but we’re so glad we joined them. Dinner was outstanding and the company was exceptional! If there is any doubt about staying here please don’t hesitate- you will not regret it! We had many many a laugh with Peter and Ernest and look forward to returning again! We would highly recommend this wonderful peace of heaven!

The only downside for us was not being able to kidnap their sweet little cat Rusty!

10/10 Customer Experience

Breakfast and dinner in Finca el Otero are at best gourmet level and better than what you can get in world's best hotels (honestly, test if you don't believe me). You can sit inside, on their terrace and they have tables in their garden as well so that you have privacy and can enjoy mountain and sea views when you are eating. Peter and Ernest are running the place together and they provide you with 10/10 customer experience all the time, you feel more as their friend at their home rather than guest in a hotel. Rooms, safe parking and pool are nice as well :)

Amazing food from morning to dinner. Never tasted anything like to food we enjoyed during our stay. Views to the mountains and sea were beautiful and the owners of the Finca were super friendly and nice.

A stunning stay surrounded by lovely views and a great pool!

This is a wonderful place to stay-a beautiful pool, gardens, truly outstanding breakfast ( one of the most delicious we have ever eaten) and accommodating hosts. The stunning views and attention to detail including the immaculately clean rooms are second to none. I would highly recommend this beautiful place to anyone.

Just a couple of minor points- the air con in the family room didn’t extend to the small back room where the children slept. No facilities for making a cuppa although there is a fridge filled with cold drinks that you can buy.

Very pleasant stay with kids

It was a relaxed place, not far from the nearest beach (15-20 minutes) and the city of Alicante and San Juan. A couple of small restaurants are nearby. It was very clean and the hosts were very kind. Great pool with a view and also the breakfast was very good. We recommend this place.

A relaxing gem of a place in the hills above Alicante

The food was exceptional! Peter and Ernest were welcoming hosts and always there if needed. The location was relaxing with beautiful views and the accommodation couldn’t be faulted. We loved the honesty bar which we helped ourselves to throughout the day.

As Scots, we were worried that there was no kettle in the room to make our tea but our hosts prepared some tea for us throughout the visit.

Earnest and Peter have a fantastic b&b. The best I have ever stayed in.

The attention of the owners nothing was to much trouble. They work so hard to make your stay the best it can be. Food was amazing and the room was cleaned to the highest standard daily. Great pool. Our whole experience was fantastic and so relaxing. So glad we found this amazing place.

No fridge or kettle etc to make coffee or tea, we British just love our tea/coffee.

Peter und Ernest - zwei wunderbare Gastgeber

Peter und Ernest sind zwei aufmerksame Gastgeber, die sich um das Wohl der Gäste sorgen. Zum Geburtstag meines Mannes bekamen wir eine Schokotorte, die wir beim Frühstück mit den anderen Gästen teilten. Das Frühstück wird jeden Tag serviert, es gibt kein Buffet. Auch das Abendessen schmeckt wunderbar.

Ubicación perfecta para desestresarse y disfrutar de la tranquilidad con una vista privilegiada Del Valle, las montañas, y a lo lejos el mar a solo 20 km de Alicante. Es destacable la atención personalizada de Peter y Ernest, que incluso anticipan lo que al huésped se le ocurra pedir. Por lejos el mejor desayuno que he tenido en mi vasta experiencia de viajes. No solo por que sea equilibrado en su contenido nutritivo, sino también porque TODOS los días fue diferente, combinando ingredientes de primera calidad, y elaborado EN EL MOMENTO! Habitaciones y baño MUY AMPLIOS, y muy limpios. Facilidad para el proceso del checkin y disponibilidad de bebidas frías, hielo, etc son valorables también. En resumen: volvería siempre!!!

Relax a pohoda – ideálne miesto na oddych neďaleko od mora so skvelými raňajkami

Toto ubytovanie sme si vybrali ako alternatívu k tradičným pobytom pri mori a musím povedať, že to bola skvelá voľba. Síce sa nachádza pár minút cesty autom od mora, táto vzdialenosť je úplne kompenzovaná krásnym a pokojným prostredím, v ktorom sa Finca El Otero nachádza. Ak máte radi pokoj a prírodu, toto miesto je ideálne. Každé ráno nám majiteľ pripravil vynikajúce raňajky, ktoré boli vždy čerstvé, chutné a veľmi pestré, ale aj zdravé. Raňajky boli trojchodové a zakaždým nás Peter prekvapil nejakou zmenou, čo bolo naozaj príjemné. Areál ubytovania je veľmi príjemný, s bazénom, ktorý bol k dispozícii 24/7 a dostatkom lehátok na relax. Ak máte chuť na chvíľu oddychu, sú tu aj útulné miesta na posedenie, ktoré skvele zapadajú do celkového pokojného charakteru tohto miesta. Veľkým plusom je aj tzv. "čestný bar", kde máte k dispozícii ponuku alko aj nealko nápojov, plus rôzne snacky (čipsy, chrumky a pod.) ktoré sú dostupné kedykoľvek. A ak si chcete užiť večer, môžete si na požiadanie objednať večeru, ktorá je rovnako chutná a esteticky podaná ako raňajky. Petr a Ernest, ktorí sa o nás starali, boli veľmi priateľskí a ochotní. Ich prístup k hosťom bol naozaj vynikajúci a vytvorili tak príjemnú atmosféru počas celého pobytu. Toto bolo prvýkrát, čo sme sa rozhodli pre ubytovanie trošku ďalej od mora, ale táto zmena nás naozaj príjemne prekvapila. Ak hľadáte miesto s kľudnou atmosférou, kvalitným servisom a krásnou prírodou, Finca El Otero je ideálnou voľbou. A ak budete túžiť po mori? Veď je to len pár minút cesty autom. Určite sa sem ešte vrátime!

Dit is een van beste B en B die wij ooit gehad hebben. De gastheren zijn top. De locatie is fanastisch. Alles was goed. Wij kunnen geen negatief item bedenken. Zeer vriendelijk gastheren. Als je een super B en B wilt, ga naar Finca El Otero. Dit is echt een aanrader. Goed eten, zowel bij het ontbijt als het diner, Super. Veel verscheidenheid in het diner. Niets is te gek. Alle wensen van de gasten worden direct geregeld. Een top B en B. Ernest en Peter, jullie hebben ons super behandeld en we komen graag weer bij jullie logeren. Toppers.
