Nethercote House is a wonderful 6 bedroom traditional Cotswold stone property dating back to approximately 1780 that offers all the conveniences of modern day living following an extensive renovation. To the front of the property is a traditional Cotswold stone wall with a path leading to both the front door and the door to the utility room. To the side is a gravelled driveway for parking up to 4 cars and solid wooden gates with a security access lock. Behind the gates is a further parking area for an additional 2 cars if required. There is a good size garden enclosed by a stone wall to three sides which is mainly laid to lawn and well stocked borders. A large patio area can be accessed directly via French doors from the kitchen/diner and has a large table and chairs for 8 people and a picnic bench ensuring plenty of outdoor seating. During the summer months a barbecue is available. The games room is located in a wooden clad building in the rear garden and has a table tennis table and table football.

Communication with the host was very easy. House was great for our party of 11 (3 generations) with plenty of room to both be together, but also find space. Excellent location with a short stroll into Bourton On The Water- so no need to use the cars. Room for 6 cars to park overall a good experience.

Beautiful house, and location was amazing. Really thoughtful to leave us some supplies (bread, butter, milk, 2 types of bacon, biscuits, eggs and some tea, coffee and sugar was left there too). House was very clean, bed linen and towels were spotless. Everything you could need was there in a well equipped kitchen and utility room. To have 3 fridges was great with so many of us. WiFi access was easy, and plenty of seating areas. The kids chose their own TV room. It was the perfect place for us to celebrate as a large family of varying ages, and we actually stayed in to eat and play games rather than going out (more than we thought we would) as it was so nice. The kids (and some of the adults) loved the games tables and the garden. It was so close to the village centre so we could leave the cars at the house. Michael Curtis was excellent at responding really quickly to queries we had before our stay. We all had a fantastic time! Thank you!

This was a perfect house for us! 3 generations: grandparents, our children and their spouses and our 6 grandchildren ages 3-8. The bedrooms were laid out well and of good size. 4 of the children delighted in staying on the 3rd level in 4 twin beds - such fun they had! We travel together each summer and often the living, dining and kitchen areas are too small for us to gather and children to play. I am happy to say that the kitchen was a great size, the dining room and table were large as was the living room. Having the snug was an additional bonus. So this was a very comfortable house for 14 people!! The laundry room was also large and handy! In addition, the fenced in back yard was perfect for the children to burn off energy. The soccer ball was really appreciated. The young men enjoyed ping pong in the garage one evening, too!So, the house was perfect!as was the town! Just a few minutes walk from the house so that we could come and go as we pleased and meet up with each other in town.We were able to fit 4 cars in the driveway by keeping the gate open. The pictures that you see of the exterior of the house are from the back yard. It did take awhile for us to find Nethercote House the first time because we were looking for that side of the house. So take a look at the street side of Nethercote House:)

Nethercote, is a great house and location, for a family get together. We were from UK and Australia, everyone was comfortable and liked the house, and it's facilities very much.

As a family of 12 people, with three generations, ranging in age from 21 to 83, this was the perfect accommodation to suit everyone's needs. The house is well equipped to be a home away from home. The weather was lovely, and we spent much time in the enclosed garden. The younger members of our group enjoyed the soccer ball and table tennis. Being within 5 minutes walk to town meant that we all could come and go without relying on transport. We are a family spread out between UK, NZ and SA, and Nethercote House provided the perfect space for us to come together and make wonderful memories. I highly recommend this homely accommodation.

This is a great cottage just a two minute walk from the centre of town, so once we’d parked up there was no need to use the car again. The cottage is clean, well equipped and very, very comfortable. Bourton-on-the-Water has a number of circular walks which take in the glorious countryside. The owner is excellent at communicating everything you need for a relaxing stay.

We spent three wonderful nights at Michael’s property. The house was very well presented, there was a lovely welcome pack of basics and the house was spotlessly clean. Brilliant location, cars did not move for the whole time we were there as we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep, which we enjoyed.

12 ladies stayed for 3 nights as part of a 60th birthday celebration. The house was perfect. We enjoyed the garden and the games room. The property is a 5-10 min walk to Bourton in Water. What a lovely place. We walked to Upper and Lower Slaughter which is so pretty. The house was clean, and we thought it was perfect for us. We shall come back again

Beautiful house just a short walk from the village. Great for 14 family members for 4 nights. Children (8 children - aged 9-15) loved the garden playing badminton and other games. Location of house is ideal for a stroll into the village without the crowds walking past.

The house was the perfect size for our family get-together of eleven people aged between 21 and 81. It's lovely and warm and the comfortable furnishings are of a good quality. The kitchen and dining room worked well for us to all cook and eat in. Although the weather was cold and wet, we made use of the games room and the slightly younger members of the family, appreciated being able to escape from the main living room into the snug. Would not hesitate to recommend or use again!

Nethercote House was even better than in the listing - spacious and comfortable with everything you could need for a luxurious trip away. A few minutes walk from the village which was picture postcard pretty and had loads to do. What a find!

The house was as described and met the needs of a family of13 from a three year old to an 83 year old. Rooms we great , comfortable and spacious and grandkids loved all being together in the loft room. Kitchen excellent, several TV's to accommodate games systems, watching TV and streaming films for the kids. Both lounges comfortably adequate for sitting and chatting and games around the large dinning room table were a lot of fun, the elder kids loved the table tennis and football table in the garage. An excellent location for an excellent weekend away.

I booked this property many months ago for a pre-Christmas weekend in the Cotswolds with my family. The communication throughout with the owner and then the property manager was excellent and the listing details were totally accurate. The only issues we had were the bed mattresses were a little hard and we couldn't find instructions for recycling, but overall it was an amazing experience and highly recommended.

Our stay was during Storm Darragh.

10 single adults for reunion weekend. Just about the right size for 10 adults and bed configuration great. Lounge a bit small.
Reasonably well equipped. Lots of pans but needed to double up when cooking for 10. Decor a bit tired but overall good value

This was our second stay at Nethercote House, but the first during the summer months. When we stayed over Christmas the house often felt chilly, but that wasn’t an issue in the summer.
The house is perfectly located, a ten minute stroll into town, so within walking distance of lots of shops and pubs. The house is comfortable, spacious, and for the most part well equipped. One decent sized fridge plus two small fridges are helpful when catering for a large number. I would definitely recommend this house for a large family group or a group of friends.
Some of the small issues we had had our previous stay had been resolved, which was good to see. The dryer has been fixed and now stays on instead of randomly switching off (although having to vent the dryer to the outside, therefore not being able to use it unless we were home is a little inconvenient). A soap dish has been added in the master (en suite) shower. A small thing but one which makes a big difference. I don’t know if the radiator in that bathroom has been fixed as it was warm enough this stay not to need it.
A couple of minor quibbles - there were only 2 tea towels and no oven gloves which was a challenge and would be easy to fix. And although there was enough outside seating with picnic tables, some more comfortable outdoor chairs for people to sit and relax in the nice weather would have been nice to have. These are just minor quibbles though. Overall it’s a great holiday house.

A great house with numerous bedrooms that suited our family of 11 perfectly. Plenty of space for us all and good facilities. Positioned a short walk from Bourton On The Water, making it really easy to get out and about to see the local attractions without needing a car. Communication with the owner is quick and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

The property was perfect for our group stay (4 families - 8 adults, 6 children), exploring beautiful, but busy, Bourton-on-the-water. Lots to see and do in the area, the house is very well equipped, table football, table tennis, medium sized garden, gas BBQ, large kitchen/diner plus 2 lounges, plenty of cutlery, crockery etc. We managed with only 3 bathrooms (1 of those being en suite). The only downside, as per other reviews is the beds - the mattresses are very hard and uncomfortable, springs move and creek as you turn over, which doesn’t make for a decent night sleep. It would prevent a repeat booking. Change the mattresses and it's perfect!

A real gem tucked away in an amazingly pretty village which was within flat walking distance to the heart of the village. A family get together, large enough to accommodate 11 of us comfortably, felt cosy and inviting. The additional games room in the garden was an excellent respite where the younger ones (& older ones) could escape if desired. It was well equipped with everything that we required. Sitting around the huge breakfast tablet enjoying a traditional English breakfast each morning was a real joy. A fabulous house in a fabulous location!
