Varchotel

Everything was new and spotlessly clean. Although just off the motorway it was extremely quiet. The beds were a little too firm as we prefer softer sleeping, and the pillow was lumpy (we should have asked for another one but were too tired). Dinner was in the adjoining restaurant. Great Portuguese menu, excellent value, and the restaurant had a terrific buzz to it - lots of happy local people. Staff were great. Good breakfast. Free parking. Will definitely stay again when travelling.

Hard beds, but everything else was fine.

Did not know that there was no bar or restaurant.

Very friendly helpful staff, dog friendly rooms. Great restaurant attached to hotel that also does take away if you want to eat in your room. 5 minutes from the motorway so a very quiet but convenient stop of if you’re driving.

The beds are smaller doubles, not a problem for us as we’re not large people but some might find it a bit snug

The pillows were "Portuguese", i.e. lovely comfortable pillows, not "Spanish", i.e. not horrible hard bolsters. Breakfast was delicious.

Bedroom was very cramped with hardly space to squeeze between the beds or the walls. One set of towels for 2 people, so shared soggy wet bath towel.
