It was right on the seafront with lots or restaurants and bars to choose from

Bit noisy at night so might not suit people with children but fine for us. Had to climb flight of stairs so not suitable for any one with mobility issues

The location and sea view from the balcony are amazing. Close to the beach, bars, restaurants and beautiful little Carihuela.

Communication regarding check in was poor. I was told only the day before travelling of a "reminder" of the 200 Euro cash deposit to cover any damages, and that this would be paid back on the last day after the property was checked. There was no mention of this previous to this. I asked if we could pay this by card. I also asked if we could check in at 3pm instead of 4pm and what would happen on the last day since we would be leaving the apartment early, 7am. I asked about all of this on the Friday at around 2pm but didn't get a reply until the following morning just before our flight at 11am. Only the question regarding paying the deposit by card was answered. I was really stressed about this which isn't very good on the first day of your holiday. We had been told to let them know when we had landed as they needed 45 minutes to get to the property. I did this along with another text asking if we could check in at 3.30pm and another text asking that the owner let me know when we were outside the property. We delayed getting to Carihuela by getting the train from Malaga airport and then walked down from Torremolinos with our luggage as I still hadn't heard back from the owner. We then had a couple of drinks at a nearby bar as we were still waiting to hear back. I then phoned the owner at 3.40pm to be told the cousin could give us the key in 5 minutes. We had been hanging around hoping to check in a bit sooner but no communication from the owner. There was no formal check in and no explanation on how to work the aircon. I had to phone about this only to be told you have to pay 1 euro per hour to get it working. There was a metal box on the wall but no note to explain this is what it was for. Anyone staying there must make sure to have a steady stream of 1 Euro coins each day for this purpose. We have been visiting Carihuela for the past 18 years and have never paid a deposit or for the aircon.
