Cotococha Amazon River Lodge

Fabulous staff! Amazing location right on the Napo river but only 10 minute taxi from the nearest town. Really felt deep in the wildlife. Edison , Nico ànd the young lady at breakfast were all amazing , helpful engaging and friendly , spoke excellent English

Sulfur smell from shower water but it’s water from the river so to be expected

Beautiful grounds. Natural environment. Felt like I was camping but with a bed vs a sleeping bag. The staff was all very friendly. Very relaxing place to stay to experience a bit of nature. The pool and hammocks were great spots to relax

Location was further from Tena that I thought (my fault for not looking at the map closely enough). Our room had large holes in the screens which allowed more bugs. The front desk staff took my questions but didn't always reply - I had to follow-up several times for answers The 2-3 hour night hike we booked through them started late and lasted only 45 minutes

The cabin overlooking the river was great, and one or two of the staff were quite friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the pool is great.

This lodge was probably wonderful when new but is now past its sell-by date and in need of some serious improvement. The atmosphere was lacking, not helped by traffic noise from the adjacent road. There was no welcome when we arrived - the guy in reception didn’t even look up from his phone until prompted and seemed disinterested and reluctant to help with our luggage. The breakfast was good but food from the restaurant menu disappointing. Water in the bathroom smelled like raw sewage. Our bedding was stained and the bedside light didn’t work.
