Cologne trip

Location and kitchenette

Radiator /heating did not work first 2 days but sorted in rest of 2 days of our stay. Not sure why but maybe because it is like a flat no cleaning or towel change happened.

Clean and spacious appt, close to 1 of the x-mas markets

Descent size appartment (top level) with very comfortable beds. All amanities are available for the dishes and showering. Small elevator brings you up. You can checkin with the provided code. Ampido parking (see app) is next to the Citypark hotel.

Altough we are fast sleepers you can still hear the sounds/bass of the discotheque until the late morning (10:00). Shower temperature goes down and up (dangerously high) and sometimes there is no water pressure. Too dangerous to shower the kids unattended.

Asked to provide personal details on a sheet including passport details and address, and slide it under a door, as we did not see one member of staff our entire stay. They came into our room late afternoon on our day of arrival, after we'd left our belongings, and left the sheet to complete, which felt invasive. Everything about it is very dated. States 'no smoking', but it smells really badly of cigarettes, especially on entry. Cleanliness was an easy zero, honestly very bad. There were no curtains! Only see-through voil-style curtains, which covered half the windows. Location is not only noisy, but pretty scary. Some not nice people hanging around the door and area.

The location was close to the subway/rail links. There were supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The room had a kitchen and fridge. Kostas the landlord was very nice.

Bed was slightly hard, pillow was too soft. Extension plug socket was difficult to connect.

It was clean and a reasonable price. Wi fi worked well. Supermarket next door so easy to get supplies needed

Club next door which went all night but most noise cut out when room closed up. Bathroom door was frosted in strips however not really private.

Great moderate budget stay in the city center

The triple room was clean and bigger than expected, beds were comfortable. The owner is very nice and accommodating. As we were there during a heatwave it was nice to have a ceiling fan. The kitchen is very basic, according to fire regulations one is not allowed to fry anything but you can boil something or reheat food in the microwave. Subway station is just a short walk from the hotel and there are many restaurants in a walking distance from the place. We were there during the week so nightclub noise was not a problem and the street noise is typical to a big city.

Great location, excellent interchange, good hotel

Excellent, comfortable hotel. Easy self-accommodation. The room has a small kitchen, kettle, microwave, dishes. Near the hotel there are several supermarkets, parking, many cafes and bars. To the Cologne DOM 15 minutes by walk, near the metro station, the line 3, 4 and 5 Great location.

The walls are still thin and if the neighbors are noisy you can hear them.

Very close to U-Bahn and Train stations... There are a lot of supermarkets around the hotel.

! DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE! We had to stay there because we had already paid for the hotel in advance, and Booking responded me after we had arrived home. On the first day, we went out and we arrived in the room late night. When we went to bed, we saw a stain on the bedsheet. We couldn’t fix this problem because there was no reception. We had to sleep in that dirty bed. Next morning, we left the bedsheet uncovered, so that they can see and change it. We arrived at hotel around 22 pm. When we entered in the room, we saw that our suitcases had been opened and searched. After a few minutes we found out that they took our toothpaste, contact lens cases, unopened bottles etc. But the dirty bedsheet was still there! As there was no reception, we couldn’t do anything! I could only send a message to the hotel via Booking. At that night we had to go that dirty bed with contact lenses. It was -6C outside. I wanted to close the balcony door firmly and I found out that it was broken! We had to fit the towels between the door and frame. I sent another message to the hotel about this problem. Next morning, I received a message. They said they had mixed up rooms. So, they had picked our clothes up, and put them into the suitcases. They had thrown our lens cases etc. away for housekeeping. After they had found out that it was a mistake, they had brought our suitcases into the room, und unpacked them again. About the balcony door they said it had not been broken before. In the last evening they sent me a message and offered us another room and a voucher. We kindly refused them because it was our last night, and we didn’t want to hear them anymore. When we arrived in the hotel, we saw that they had taken our lens cases etc. from the rubbish bin and put them on the table. By the way, although they used the excuse of housekeeping, the dirty bedsheet was still there. Likewise, our towels were fitted between the door and frame, and they did not give us clean towels.

The ingredients in the kitchen were insufficient. There is a microwave oven, but there is no glass plate for heating in the oven, plastic plates are available. For this reason, we had a hard time in the kitchen.

Decent room, close to metro and trams, shops and restaurants. Comfy bed. Manager very nice and friendly.

Bathroom could use renovation. Party in the basement was going on for looong and you could feel the base.

The hotel was cheap and in a great location for what we came to do. The receptionist was also very helpful and friendly. It wasn't a bad stay, I would probably use them again if I ever went to Köln, assuming the price remained low.

We ordered this apartment hotel so we could cook in the room instead of spending money on eating out, but the facilities were not really very good. It lacked plates and cups and we had to "rent" additional kitchen supplies, which we weren't particularly happy about. The lighting in the room/bathroom was also terrible, which made shaving a bit of an ordeal. The bed and pillows were also atrocious. We did not sleep well. The wifi was also unreliable, but thankfully we had roaming data. It was also quite hard to find staff if we needed information or help with anything, when the maids didn't speak English and the reception was not manned the whole day.

Amazing location and price

Amazing staff, superb location, expecially if you are looking to have a fun night. All of the best clubs and bars are very close. The room was clean and the bed was super comfy. Also very comfortable shower. Everything is within the walking distance. It takes 20 minutes to walk to the train station or the Cathedral. There are bakeries and cafes nearby to get fresh buns and morning dose of caffeine.

Just some details away...

The place is just a 20 minutes walk from the center of the town and there are a lot of great cafeterias and restaurants nearby. The price, in comparison to the average hotels in the city, is pretty good.

They have to work a little bit more with the facilities and the consumables. There was literally no soap in bathroom 🤣. Also it takes a lot of effort to close the door.
