Manoir de Ponsay

Manoir de Ponsay is the perfect place to destress and chill out. The property has been in the family for generations and Laurent, the current patron and lord of the manor, is a gentleman of the old school. On parking our car we were met by the family dog who politely showed us the way to the door to the manor - I kid you not - where Laurent was just as welcoming. The property is a real gem with charm and tastefully chosen period furniture that was likely brand new when it was first installed at the manor. We headed to the swimming pool which was perfect for a swim in the evening sunshine after a long drive. We only stayed two nights around a trip to the Puy du Fou. I hope there will be a next time with more time to relax and enjoy!

You need to drive out to eat in the evening but we made a little picnic outside the first night we were there. Apologies but I simply can’t manage to delete the photographs of my wife standing in front of Chateau de Villandry that I have added in error. They are the photos with her wearing a hat. The other photos are at Manoir de Ponsay. Btw Chateau de Villandry is a lovely chateau and gardens on the Loire that is a lovely day out on a sunny day.

Les hôtes sont très chaleureux et accueillants . Ils prodiguent d’excellents conseils pour les activités alentours , n’hésitez pas à les solliciter . Le manoir est très bien entretenu , les chambres sont spacieuses et joliment décorées . Nous avons passé un chouette séjour de 3 nuits en famille . La piscine est un réel atout supplémentaire par ces fortes chaleurs .

Beautiful chateau in the French Countryside. Great for a small getaway with the kids , entertainment room was nice for everyone. The hosts were lovely and very accommodating.

All the nearby restaurants were closed on Monday.

Absolutely fantastic. Highlight of our trip to France. Stunning location, stunning property. The owner, Lauren, was a superb host. Will definitely be going back.
