Excellent experience; highly recommended!

The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful; every single one of them. They offered a very warm welcome, kept our luggage for a few hours until our check-in, immediately provided assistance to a small issue we had with the sink, they printed a couple of things for us that we needed (free of charge) and arranged a taxi in no time for our departure. The location is great; central enough but not too noisy, with a nice view of the Roman agora. It's a minute's walk from the taxi spot on Ag. Dimitriou avenue opposite the church and very close to bars, mini-markets and supermarkets, bus stops, and many other amenities. The room (and the hotel in general) was extremely clean. Although a bit on the smaller side, it had everything you might need and was comfortable. Daily cleaning service was provided, which we really appreciated. The beds and pillows were nice and comfortable too and the air conditioning worked like a charm, so sleep was relaxing, which was an important thing for us. The bathroom was very clean and also had shampoo/shower gel and soaps, which was not mentioned on the list on booking.com. Water pressure was great too. The Wi-Fi was very fast and worked perfectly. The room also had a small fridge. No breakfast is offered but there is a 24-hour free buffet with coffee and cookies. All in all, staying at Orestias Kastorias was an amazing, great value-for-money experience. We would definitely stay here again and it's an easy recommendation for us!

The experience was perfect for us, but I have to deduct one point for two aspects that might be important drawbacks for others. First, the lack of an elevator. The hotel is only 2 floors high but there are quite a few steps for each floor, which could be a problem for people with mobility issues or older guests. Second is the size of the shower. In our double room it was very small, and the curtain couldn’t keep the water inside. If you are not a thin person you will need to be very careful not to make a mess while showering. The people at the hotel are extremely helpful and I am sure that if you contact them in advance, they will make sure to accommodate you regarding any of these things.

Solo traveler’s gem in central Thessaloniki.

The location is perfect, right in the city center, immediately next to the Roman Agora (Ancient Roman Forum of Thessaloniki). Aristotle Square is nearby, as well as the promenade that leads to the White Tower. I stayed alone, and the reception staff were very kind, truly perfect service.

The only thing I would point out is that during my stay, there were some children running and making noise in the hallway, though this is more about the guests (and perhaps their parents) than the hotel itself. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but everything else was really excellent considering the value for the price, especially the location.

A safe, clean hotel where you can stay again.

Spacious, clean, safe, centrally located, no parking problems (street parking available), air conditioning worked well. Our room had a balcony overlooking the ruins. There were colourful and lively cafés nearby. Close to historical sites, which we were able to visit on foot. The receptionist was helpful, friendly, and provided us with a valuable travel guide. Free tea and coffee, along with small biscuits, were available. We would definitely stay there again.Thank you very much.

There were no negative experiences. A wider variety of savoury and sweet biscuits could be served alongside the coffee, but it was sufficient as it was.

Good location, main beds were comfortable, room and bathroom were clean, hot water in the shower, the staff was friendly.

Small points: there was a weak stream in the shower head, the third bed (folding) was low and not so comfortable.

Loved the location, near the Roman Forum & the Agios Dimitrios Church. Staff were friendly & very helpful. Room was clean & while not large was adequate. Tea & coffee available.

Comfy, staff hospitality and welcoming ,very clean, daily housekeeping, quiet. Availability of breakfast place, serving hot coffee and tea 24/7. The location is amazing.

1-Lacks elevator 2-the room facilitated with one closet barely enough for one person.

Welcoming and clean

I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it looks better than it does in pictures. It striked me how clean everything was not just the room but the hotel in general. The room has a good size and it was very clean, as well as the bathroom. I booked single room but got one with queen size bed. The bed was comfy as well as the pillows, and room has AC as well as balcony. I loved fluffy towels in the bathroom. There is also hair dryer, soap and shower gel in the bathroom. They don't serve breakfast nor they have coffee/tea in the room, but they have free coffee and tea with buscuits in a separate area across from the lobby. The staff was kind, welcoming and helpful. The guy at the front desk even asked me if I was happy with the room and if I needed anything more, when I left the room first time after I have checked in. Also big plus for 24/7 front desk, I had to leave at 4 AM and they got me taxi in 2 min.

Room is not soundproof and it was easy to here people coming in and out of their rooms. Also traffic outside and some noises from the bars around. If you bring ear plugs with you then this will not be and issue.

Way too short!!! Definitely worth a sequel :)

It is not our first visit to Orestias and definitely not the last one! As we are in loved with Thessaloniki, we need a place to stay, and I can't think of another place better then Orestias! The staff is invisible when it comes to cleaning. You go for some lunch and... puff.... your room is sparkling clean!

An elevator would be great but no worry, as our host assured us, next year we will get to the second floor in a blink of an eye. My wife says that this comment is too mean but, in the end, I had to carry out the luggage!!! Don't worry, the host offered to help me with the suitcase, but it was only one so i turn them down politely :D

Rooms are not soundproof. You can hear the motorcycles outside and also noise from the corridor. The single room is very small. Bathroom is very small and kind of uncomfortable. Narrow, old style shower. TV had no signal. No elevator.
