Monnaber Nou Finca Hotel & Spa

Location was great, very tranquil for a relaxing time around the great pool.

We paid for a double room with balcony and were located down in the old stable block about 5 minutes walk from the main building. There was an excellent rectangular swimming pool at the stable block which, although unheated, was warm enough for a decent swim in early May. There were lovely views of the countryside from our first floor balcony. Our room was spacious, with a seating area, and very clean. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Breakfast was served at the stable block with a reasonable choice, including scrambled eggs and bacon, from the buffet. The property was peaceful, but well located only a few minutes off the main Palma road. The overnight stay was good value.

Dinner was served in the main building about 5 minutes walk up the track - this wasn't an issue for us, but could be for some guests. It was busy when we went for dinner at 7.30pm, but we waited a few minutes and were able to have a table on the balcony with lovely views across the fields and orchard. We had read several reviews which raved about the food so we hoped we were in for a treat - these reviews overstated the food, in our opinion. We had a pleasant two course dinner with a bottle of good Mallorcan wine for a total of just over 100 Euros for two. The food was not historic, but it was fresh and tasty with some dishes prepared from ingredients from the estate's farm. The Monnaber Nou is not a design hotel - in our view it could not be described as chic or stylish. The décor and furnishings are a mishmash of styles. It caters for lots of cyclists and family groups as it has excellent facilities. However, it was clean, quiet and good value.

The hotel is tucked away in the hills and quite remote so probably best to eat on sight. The views are stunning and the 17th century finca itself is charming with beautiful decor, roaring fires and welcoming staff. There are lots of amenities for families like cycling,tennis and swimming. Highly recommended

- The environment around hotel is nice. Quiet and relaxing. - Bed is comfortable. - Parking is good. - WiFi connection is good. - Room was very clean.

- Breakfast is not worth it to pay for. We recommend you to drive to "Campanet" to get a reasonable breakfast there. - They has neither fridge, water nor coffee available for the room services. - Sun beds are not enough for hotel guests. - The water was leaking from the AC in room 107 during the night.
