We like to stay here when we visit Cancale and have stayed often. This time was okay and we liked the room. Unfortunately I found it uncomfortable at night time and I didn’t sleep very well. The pillows are very large and hard. I prefer a softer flat pillow. I woke up with an ache in my neck.
Also they don’t have decaffeinated coffee, only the sachets which are awful, and so I have to have tea for breakfast. I much prefer coffee. And there is no option to have a cooked breakfast, not even an omelette. That is disappointing. There is no water in the room.

Bedroom big with big comfortable double bed. Good clean white linen. Plenty of pillows. Bedside tables with wall lamps. Built in wardrobe with coat hangers. Desk & chair with lamp. Plenty of plug holes. Tele. Full length mirror. Window overlooking the road and the promenade and a bit of the bay.
Shower room is big, bright and clean. Big walk in shower. Single headed shower. Shower gel dispenser .Small velux window. Sink and top with lots of space. Hand soap dispenser. Big mirror, hairdryer & make up tissues.
There is a mezzanine floor with a single bed. Needs a sofa
Downstairs is the restaurant and breakfast room. The hotel has prime spot for roadside seating in the sun. Good for people watching.
No kettle or tea/coffee making facilities. Stairs to the mezzanine are over the bed on the right hand side. Not too intrusive.
Not soft close toilet seat. In fact the toilet seat wouldn’t stay up and had to be held; annoying; poorly fitted. Thin toilet paper.
They shut the outside seating just when it’s needed most when the sun is on their side of the street! Weird.

We had a sea view room with a balcony which was great. The view out to see and across the town was superb. The room is not large, but it is adequate for two people and had it had a decent bathroom. The location is great for a walk up the hill to the town or for going out in the afternoon for fresh oysters followed by a meal in one of the port side restaurants.
The entrance to the rooms in the hotel could be presented more nicely, as it does just feel like you check in at the restaurant and then make your way upstairs. We did not have the food so cannot comment on the food.

Fantastic location in the bay of the charmante village of Cancale. We had a beautiful view on the promanade with the many small restaurants.
People were very kind an helpful.
The menu of the restaurant is very good price vs quality.
Cancal is a very good place if you like to visit Mont Saint-Michel, Saint-Malo, Dinan, Diard, Dol-de-Bretagne, Fort La Latte, Pointe du Grouin, ...
Breakfast was very good, but not much variation if you stay multiple days.

The location of the hotel was excellent with a marvellous view of the sea and promenade from the dining room. We ate in the hotel that evening and the meal was superb - a real treat.
The bathroom was good. However there were chipped tiles on the shower floor and evidence of mould between the tiles which could be removed with mould cleaner as it did not look very nice.
We were also aware of the continuing hum of the extractor/air conditioning unit.

Centrally located, right on the beach
Very dated, funky smell, can get very loud outside on the weekend

Location is key to this stay. Right on the water. Great cafes along the promenade and a good number of shops. Excellent restaurant. I would highly recommend this place.

We had a very nice stay on our way back from Christmas with family
The restaurant in the Hotel was superb with delicious menus and excellent choice of seafood
The staff were pleasant and cheerful
Had a good room with a beautiful view of the bay
A good place for exploring the area we would definitely stay again
The hotel is a little tired and the price was more than I would want to pay but it was just before New year
Parking was difficult as the town was very busy and we had to walk someway and my husband is disabled and it was difficult for him with luggage and you have to pay before 7 pm

The room was clean and tidy, with private bathroom and a very big shower. The location is great, just in front of the sea. Breakfast was good (really enjoyed the handmade biscuits).
Maybe they could allow the check-in earlier (although they are available if you wish to leave your baggage).

OK room with a view. Good facilities and OK bed.
Only one chair in the room, gives sittning in bed when there. No launch or bar, only dining room.

Our room had double aspect windows over the port and sea. The location is stunning, and only 30 mins from the ferry port of St Malo.
You have GOT to have une assiette des huitres from the oyster market stalls at the end of the seawall...only 5/6 euros per doz, that's shucked and lemon included. The large bed was comfortable. The grand plateau de fruits de mer was delicious. It was our wedding anniversary and with coffees we were given mini gâteau with candles to celebrate. Lovely waiting staff
Glass sliding door in the bathroom. Slow draining bathroom sink. Leaving at 7.30am for our ferry, we were stopped by the nightstaff to pay the E5 taxe séjour ( we spent over E500 over 2 nights there... Should have either been already included or written off as it made us feel like we were trying to avoid it by doing an early runner....bad taste left in our mouths)

View out over the bay. Good seafood restaurant in the hotel.
Tiny room and bathroom. Quite noisy early morning with oyster farmers passing outside on their tractors. You're paying a lot to be on the seafront.

Our first floor room with a balcony overlooking the bay was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. All of the staff were absolutely wonderful. So welcoming and friendly. We can't wait to come again!
What's not to like? There is no car parking on site which could be a problem but the public paying car park is opposite the hotel and there is a free long stay one behind the hotel ( up a very steep, long set of steps ).

The rooms were comfortable and clean with bottles of mineral water provided which was appreciated. The view from the room was splendid and the location of the hotel perfect right on the promenade. The hotel lift was much appreciated.
The breakfast was very good, especially the croissants and bread.
There was no real space at the hotel to sit and have a drink before or after dinner, all tables being taken up by diners. However, the bar across the road was lively and open all day until quite late into the evening and filled the gap!
There was no private parking but sufficient public parking nearby. Credit card being charged for the stay a few days before arrival when this had not been mentioned at first booking through this site was not appreciated.
